Ok, I have the new build ready. This is a full version now at build 1.0.0.15
I have added in the following features:
1.) Ability to filter market tree so only node/categories with imported data will be expandable 2.) Market details data can now be filtered by quantity and price. (for price the numeric value must be a whole number with not formatting: Example 8,000.00 should be enter as 8000) 3.) Changed the Market details UI, added in a moveable divider between the seller and buyer datagrids. 4.) Import logs dialog window now defaults to the Eve\Logs\Marketlogs folder.
Full version download: 1.0.0.15
Patch Download: 1.0.0.15

Looking at adding in an export feature. This export will be in XML format and can then be sent to a corp buddy to import on their end etc.
Does this seem useful? This would be used until I get the portiable web service piece built for those who want to host their own corp shared market data.

You'll have to forgive me but I have not downloaded this version as of yet. And I see you added a number of ideas I suggested.
/begs forgiveness.
I'm making due with a loaner notebook and a network drop the hospital was kind enough to make hot for me. However when I get home I'll download it forthwith.
Question #1: Is this update just an executable update or does it need to install a new copy of the "mdb"? (Ergo, could I still use my old mdb or should I export the market data table to a new one... ...)
RE: Export
I'm a big propronent of csv standard for exporting. XML is a big standard, yes, but csv is even simpler and much easier on the eyes if someone should choose to review the data by eye. Add in that there is less likely to be any conversion issues no matter what database the data is imported too... win win all around.
Besides which, access to the mdb is relatively easy (no pun intended actually!) so the export format is just for those who don't have access to access or any access extractor/convertor tool. (Dime a dozen those.)
Don't be discouraged that posts aren't flowing just yet. When I get the program I'll likely swamp you with a crap load of useless ideas that you'll have to pretend to like for future version.

This version doesn't need a new mdb file. You can just grab the patch download.
Yes, I did put a few of your suggestions and they worked out nicely like the filtering of orders by qty. and price.
I totally understand your preference for csv. And yes, you can export the data from the mdb if you have access or some other tool to read it and export the data to a csv file which in turn can be imported back into someone elses mdb file.
I have no problems with ideas for future releases of ISK MEDIC, fire away your ideas!!! Of course I have to play the game also so I can keep my isk flowing for my in game adventures. :)
Which is why any isk donations are always welcome.... :)

I have one known feature that has been requested by a person in game. I will look at adding a report feature soon that will give a break down of all inmported items the volume etc. I will be adding in the export feature. Need to have it ready for the expansion that will be bringing new region and systems, stations as far as I can tell.

So, how is it going? Looking to hear from anyone using isk medic and if the tool is helping you or not. I have heard from a few new to the market and it has helped them. But I would like to hear more from people. Anyone?
I guess no news can be good news. :)

I have not had time to update the ISKMEDIC database with the new region, systems, and stations.
Not really sure If I will I really never hear much from anyone using it. I take it not too many find the tool useful.
Oh well I know I do!

Edited by: Gremrod on 17/06/2008 18:29:15 Here is a screen shot of the application before the last update.
SS: Isk Medic
It allows you to import the market log files you can export in game.
Once you have the data imported you can find seller to buyer trade routes. Also lets you see the movement of items giving you a good look at where to place your manufactured items for sale and get the best price. You can see where to buy from seller (at low price) and move to a different location to put back in the market for a good profit.
Allows you to compare region data in a single window or in seprate windows. The UI mimics the Market tree and the seller and buyer grids. The difference is it allows you to see how many of the item was place on the market and if they ahve sold any at that price they placed them at.
You need to import the data for the items and regions over a period of a 4 days at least to get a look at the trending this application can expose. The reason for this is the fact that when anyone changes/modifies their order it resets the issued date and duration. During import EVEMarket leaves the issued date alone for all existing imported data. This way you can see some type of trending.
My corp has been using it and we ahve done pretty well with it. Example by reviewing the data for Hammerhead I drones I saw I could buy them from one region for 21K a piece and could move them to a region and put them back on the market for 80K. I knew this because I saw in another regions data someone was selling them at 100K a piece and I could see they were moving since I could see the issued date and the QTY. Entered and the QTY. left. I sold them for that price until I was under cut. I am still selling them for 64K a piece. Still triple what I bought them at.
Now with that said I have bought stuff that sells but they are not moving as fast as I thought they would, but hey its a market what can you do. :)

Any chance of adding some sort of System filter option on a per region basis? What I mean is, you can specify for each region only what system(s) you want displayed when looking at data. So for example, I could specify Jita for The Forge and Hek for Metropolis, and when I pull up data those are the only two systems I see. Often I only care about dealing with specific hubs, though it would be useful to have some sort of configurable filter system so that if I wanted to be able to limit to Systems X & Y *unless* the item quantity is greater than Z, in which case display that system as well.

So you want an added filter for the region filtering to also filter by systems, if I understand you correctly?
Yes, this can be done. I think it is a good idea.

Yes, that's correct (being able to filter to multiple systems per region would be ideal).
Also, what about the ability to mark or highlight items in the Market Item list. Something to make specific items more visible, like add a background colour to the entry, so you can keep track of the items you're most interested in. I like to export a large amount of data from a couple regions to find stuff with potential, and then don't really have any interest in exporting again for the other items. Would be easier to keep track of whats what if I could do this.
This tool is great as it is Gremrod, so thanks for the hard work thus far.

But you are aware that "CSV" doesn't work well in an international environment, are you? That's due to the fact that different countries have different regional settings. In Germany, for example "." is the thousand seperator, whereas "," is the decimal separator. That's why in Germany CSV's use ";" as a column separator. Try improting that into an english Excel or vs.
In fact, I think CSV is perhaps the worst choice for exchanging data, as it also doesn't provide any kind of data typing (force a number to be a number or a date to be a date).

XML doesn't have this limitations.
This is exactly why I won't import CSV. Sure, I'll export so you can mess around with it in Excel but importing? No way. Far too much hastle. --------------------------------------
