Edited by: Martyr Theos on 08/06/2008 23:47:06 Whose brilliant idea was it to deny the use of bombs in Lo-Sec? Why? Do the Pirates of Lo-Sec need their Carriers protected? Do the Developer's have infrastructure at risk in Lo-Sec? What possible reason could justify this?
My Alt's small newish empire Corp is at war (they decced us) with a Low-Sec Corp that has capital ships (while we don't).... and we are taking the battle to them!... on their turf! And the one weapon in Eve available to us that might even the score a bit is Da Bomb, but no, CCP cant allow that to be used in Lo-Sec against the helpless piwats there.
If Heavy Dictors can operate in High-Sec, then bombs should operate in Lo-Sec.

Edited by: Martyr Theos on 08/06/2008 23:55:50 We have been TOLD repeatedly that they can't be launched in Lo-Sec. If this is bad info, please educate me. But they are too expensive to waste and we would look stupid if when we try to launch them, we get a note from CCP saying they can't be launched.

************ What I mean't was if they allow a ship that can act as effectively as a bubble in High-Sec, then an "area effect" weapon should be allowed in Lo-Sec. The dividing line on these things in CCP's mind seems to be the line between High-Sec and Lo-Sec..... not between Lo-Sec and Zero-Sec. The same rationale is used for capital ships... they are in Lo-Sec and Zero. So why can't bombs operate in Lo-Sec? "Got License?" - TNMF |

As far as I know the bubble effect of heavy interdictors does NOT work in low sec, not to mention high sec, but only 0.0.

um his point is that iot's not an area of effect weapon.
and thus can be used.

umm this is off topic, but the focus effect only effects one other player. not everyone within the radius. and bubbles of any kind have been banned from low or high sec. now area of effect weapons(smartbombs) can be used in even highsec, its just ill advised.
As to if a bomb will work in lowsec, I do not know, but I would suggest getting on the test server to find out.

Speaking as a victim, a heavy dictor bubble does work in low sec albeit it'll attract the attention of any nearby gate guns. I'd guess it'll work in high sec as well but, will attract Concord.

It does not work in lowsec. What you may have seen was a graphical bug.

Titans cant DD in low sec or high sec, only null sec. Dictor bubbles cant be put up in low sec or high sec, only null sec. (there are was a graphical issue where even though an infinipoint script was being used, a bubble still appeared). Bombs can be used in high sec, low sec and null sec. It is however inadvisable because in high sec or low sec you are likely to strike other players you dont want to hit or gates and end up concorded. To the OP, you're not going to hurt a carrier too much with a bomb.
