Before the last patch I was the owner of both an Anaconda and a Python mine BPO. Today when looking for these BPO's I could no longer find them. I had recently transfered them between characters via contract so I checked the contract to make sure they had gone where I thought they had. The contract does not display any items anymore and if you hover over it on the contract list it displays some garbage item codes instead of the item name.
So I'm wondering if CCP has just deleted them entirely? Can anyone else who owned either of these BPO's or copies of these confirm for me that they still have them?
If they have been deleted I will be a little bit sad as while they were useless they were pretty collectable and had a certain amount of value to them.
PS. A corp member just checked if his was around and its missing too. So any patch notes on this or any CCP input? Not cool. |

Thanks for the swift reply. Wasn't planning on using them anytime soon so as long as I get them back in a reasonable amount of time I will be happy. |

I would gladly accept a titan BPO as a suitable replacement for now. |

That said, how can Mines truly be a collector item, if BPOs exist, they can still be produced, and due to the way EVE functions (no visible item creation date, serial number, etc) there is no way to tell between a 2003-built mine and a 2012-built one?
I'm from the Empyrean Age timeframe, so mines were unusable when I started.
As far as I can remember the BPO has no build requirements of skills or materials and cannot actually be used to produce mines. It can however be used to produce BPC's. |

Fair enough. I only really remember trying to build them on BPC's. I think I may have just assumed it didn't work with the BPO's. I would test it out if i stall had them :P
Testing after/if we get them back may not prove anything either if they mess with them. |

If that applies to the copies then I guess my memory has failed me. I guess if they can still be produced then the mines themselves shouldn't be all that rare or worth anything. Id like to think my BPO still held some value though. |

But I agree, a) they should not delete parts of the games history b) having a single person (with the help of another) being fully in charge of deleting stuff from the database is beyond disturbing, and does not give much trust at all that he can just remove whatever he wants to, that quick/easily.
He came clean in a thread called "Anaconda and Python mine bpo's missing". Entitys thread was called "CCP - Perfectly working legacy items deleted ?! " but the dev felt the Anaconda and Python thread would be better. Okay it was frist, but the title is all wrong. On top of that they have said in tthe past that forums do not count as official. I havent received an ingame evemail telling me that some of my items were deleted either. With OTHER things they have done in the past I have received generic evemails from "The Team".. It's a bit like fessing up to a crackhead that you killed a police officer. Or telling your priest that your porking your neighbour. Yea, It's coming clean.... Just on the quiet. The title was not wrong as I was only wondering where those 2 items had gone. Also im going to go out on a limb here and suggest that for the effort involved in a dev writing a script to mail specific people who had items deleted they could simply just return the items. I mean they could mail everybody in game saying we may have deleted some of your items etc but that would make more of a PR shitstorm than its really worth. I don't really understand what any more slander or bitching is going to accomplish here. |

The dev in question as far as I know was last seen trying to prove his knowledge of how titans work rather unsuccessfully. That is probably keeping him busy. |

Oh and ofc, I want to sell my Quafe industrial I got from this years Fanfest as obviously some kneejerk reaction from CCP will remove that too in the future!
I better get rid of my pirate and faction ships too, and maybe t2 as well hmm. Hangar clearout at my place this weekend! No the Quafe ship will be given out for free this christmas. |
