Just putting together a low skilled mission megathron.
7 x 350mm compress coil rails 1 x drone link augmenter ---- 1 x LiF fueled booster afterburner 3 x Cap recharger II's ---- 1 x Large carapace restoration repper 4 x N-Type hardeners (mission specific) 1 x Gauss field stabiliser 1 x CPU upgrade
I have tried it with 435mm rails instead, but it's a bit of an annoying fit and kinda ends up with only 6 guns and almost the same DPS.
It's pretty good on good on cap and if you need to tank more you can stick in a damage control instead of the damage mod.
Any suggestions?

looks decent-ish enuff for me, considering low fitting skills...
some advice: weapon upgrades is easy to train. and eutectics save some more cpu.
ultimatively it needs moar damage mods.

Indeed, i'm working on weapon upgrade 4 as well speak, and that should give me enough extra CPU to possibly forgo the CPU upgrade and add another +damage with mechanic 5 following just after.
I have just started flying gallente ships on a bit of a whim as i'm cross trained to fly every factions battleships hehe.

LOL - your fitting isn't bad, more damage it about it really.
What is bad is this:

Yer, well.. uh.. I'm a miner by trade really. But i do like my shiny ships and have become a bit of a "pokemon collector". After a hard days roid bashing i like nothing better than riding around in whatever ship takes my fancy picking up the ladies. I'm dreadful at flying all of them.

you will cap out for sure. lose the afterburner and the MFS. Consider using lead ammo to save cap.
Drones Drones Drones are the only way to kill elite frigates. Don't rely on heavies, i've found t2 light drones kill elite frigs quickly.
For instance, some poor soul was stuck in his mission, he'd killed all the larger ships, but couldn't warp out, he was locked in place by a tiny ship which he couldn't kill.

Oh, i forgot to say it's getting triple CCC's and i have nearly maxed drone skills (enough to use sentries/T2 heavies if i wanted).
Eve fit tool says that the repper will run indefinately if the after burner isnt on.

Looks fine for a starter setup. Once you have the fitting skills to fit 7x 425mm guns, go for it.
I use a tracking computer instead of the afterburner in the mids, as well as the bonuses it gives, using scripts allows you to vary your optimal range which can be very helpful. To save cap you probably only have your AB on to burn for gates anyway so it's of limited use I think.
Also, as one of the previous replies said, go for light drones to take out the frigates. I use 5x lights and that still leaves you room for 4x heavies to help out your dps once the lights have got rid of those pesky frigates.

For my PvE Megathron (I dont have the best fitting skills, but theyre decent..), Ive got ..
Lows: LAR I Auto-Gain Tracking Enhancer I EANM + 2 Rat Specific Hardeners 2 Power Diagnostic Systems
Mids: Web 3 x Cap Rechargers
Highs: 6x 350mm Compressed Coil Gun I/Antimatter L 1x Arbalest Assault Launcher I/Rat Specific Missile
Drones: 5x Ogre I
I need to adjust the fitting a bit since Ive trained some new skills that'll let me use some new stuff.. but thats what I have, its decent.

7 x 350mm prototype railguns 1 x drone link augmenter ---- 1 x tracking computer with tracking script(can't remember it's name) 3 x Cap recharger II's ---- 1 x Large carapace restoration repper 4 x N-Type hardeners (mission specific) 2 x Gauss field stabilisers ---- 3 x capacitor control circuits
Tis much better.
