Well okay maybe not, But thats what I think when I read another BBC News gem.
Men 'unhappy' with body image.
"Dr John Morgan said he believes images of male beauty in the media are part of the problem, and that there's now just as much pressure on young men to look slim as there is on women."
lol wut.
Last time I checked very few of us gave a shit? or is it these "metrosexuals" i hear about.
What the hell is that anyway...
These people that this article is about can only be those type of people that base everything they do on what society dictates. Weak willed individuals.
Bah, this is why society is over-rated. These fools need to get themselves an nice MMO or something... but not EVE.
They'd whine that their Dominix looked "fat".
"WTB Lipo for mai domi kthx"
Tbh, I blame Russell Brand. For those not familiar with the UKs pathetic social idols, hes some scruffy, apparently hilarious, pseudo-intelligent man-baby that wears makeup and speaks with an incredibly pretentious accent.
Alright. A "British" accent. I digress...
WTS A pair of BALLS to these suckas in this article.

Problem: Metrosexuals such as David Beckham.
Solution: Men with balls use shotgun on problem.
Its all about media image. The media hypes up people like you mentioned, and the vast numbers of sheeple around do their best to imitate these false gods.

Those would be the anorexic emos you see these days? Agreed, what the hell is up with that? Eat properly, run lots, put down the eye shadow. Sorted.

More than likely.
I saw some dude at the train station the other day. He was wearing skin tight jeans, some weedy hoody and had the greasiest hair you can imagine stuck to his face.
Converse All-stars lowtops, some backpack with biro pen all over it at some little buttons that said "say no to nuclear".
He was so obscenely thin you could tell he was like ... super-octo-uber-vegan; those people that dont eat anything that isn't classed as an animal-safe aerosol.
Yet he seemed proud to show off his pencil-like physique with his skin tight clothing.
Initial instinct was to push this weak individual onto the tracks...

19.5 here. Thats ideal according to the NHS if you're 6 foot 2 inches and 11 stone. (Oh snap, imperial)
Work out your BMI, aka... The "Am I a Fat-ass" Statistic.

You know that the BMI doesn't really correlate all that well with fitness and health levels, eh ? Personally, lowest I ever got was at around 33 or so (for about two years in between two 40+ long periods), and at 33 I was barely overweight and fit as a freaking fiddle, not obese and out of shape like the BMI would have seemed to indicate (right now, yeah, I'm quite out of shape and obese, but I still kick the crap out of 15-20-ish BMI undernourished wannabe-emos any time of the day endurance-wise).

Yeah, If you can catch them! Ho ho.
I digress. The BMI is a shot in the dark but safe to say if you're 5 foot tall and have a BMI of 80, things are not looking good.

17.07 BMI.
I do honestly love this bit though - "Are you eating enough calories every day?"
I think on average I eat about 5k calories a day and all the nesicary protien etc to go with it, I just happen to have a stupidly fast metabolism and do lots of exercise. Cramming more callories in really isn't an option, I'm eating every spare moment of the day as it is.

Key thing is, Do you really want to break your own foot off in your ass because you're "unhappy with your appearance" or do you realise that it doesn't really matter as long as you're alive and healthy?

18.5 is kind of skinny, but still within the 18-25 parameters, and it's still not so skinny that it's unhealthy.
Still. BMI is not an ideal way of measuring fitness. As for example there isn't a heavy weight champion in the world that could have enlisted with the marines without being sent to the "fatcamp" (as your average heavy weight boxer has a BMI of 30 or more). ______________________________________________ -My respect can not be won, only lost. This is actually quite an interesting topic to discuss about various social circles that have developed in the UK over the last several years.
The people described in the article above, although it mentions no affiliation to a certain group, tend to be the new breed of 'indy' followers. Who for some ungodly reason feel the need to squeeze themselves into a stupidly tight pair of jeans.
I honestly don't see the attraction with the jeans, any chance someone could enlighten me? _____________________________________________

I never met as many metrosexuals and leg-shavers as I did in the USMC.
Crazy, ain't it? But something about being physically fit and a girl magnet draws these types. They ain't gay, but there is a tendency to worry more about appearance than feels comfortable.
It's just not my preference as a guy, I guess. Just like I enjoy it when my wife dresses up, but I also find her attractive and appealing when she's got work clothes on.
I like to put on slacks and a dress coat. Got four or five of them. Too bad I currently live in a southern state where clothes like that are reserved for church and court

You need to correct the title. Instead of "Men no longer men at all!" it should be:
"BRITISH Men no longer men at all!"
Because we still have plenty of Real Men (tm) here in the States.

Its a noticible trend. Men becoming more like women and vice versa. Pretty soon i think we will all be identical in the future, bar the sexual organs of course (maybe not even that - perhaps in another 100000 we will have changed to a slug like sexuality)

Edited by: Sharupak on 12/09/2008 20:15:12 I could care less as well. All that BS subtract from the finer things in life like walking naked around my own house.
Ok, ok, I did succumb on one thing, and that are those...fluffy poofy bundled up net things that hang on a rope. When my wife first got one in the shower, I was like WTF is that! I am not using that! Just look at it, I will wash myself down with it and sprout a vagina! But she decided she liked it and kept throwing my wash cloths out!
Its not bad, it EXFOLIATES!
By the way, men dont have it nearly as bad as women. Ladies, I dont know how you put up with this shit! _______________________________________________ RuntimeError: ChainEvent is blocking by design, but you're block trapped. You have'll have to find some alternative means to do Your Thing, dude. |
