Tested orbiting a Raven with cruise and torps loaded.
Both cruise missles and Torps are able to track and hit a frigate orbiting at 1km. I was under the impression that they would not beable to do this.
With the changes to MWD now when you hit the mwd to out run the missles, the big guns can hit you. I think this backfired somehow.
Please look into the agility of these missles.

Yeah i think he knows that the MWD is suppose to increase the signature radius and therefore increases the likelyhood of being hit by larger weapons no designed to take on frigates. What hes talking about is the fact that Torps and Cruise missiles were suppose to be made less effective against small fast craft like Frigates and Interceptors. Now if those changes werent made in this patch, when will they be made? Or have they just been scrapped? Cos so far, interceptors are becoming less and less worth the extreme hassle of training them :/

I would have expected that while riding in an elite frigate one would not need a MWD, but only an AB!? Especially to simply outrun missiles. Now to close on the BS in the first place I understand the desire for rediculous speed. ____ If your not dyin' your not tryin'. |

The MWD change was to allow larger ships to actualy hit the speedy MWD frigates. I agree with this: gain the advantage of speed and lose the advantage of being a small target.
But now frigates have gained two dissadvantages from this.
Whenwarping in to attack an enemy they will have to spend a few seconds locking you, i use this time to and do one burst from the mwd just to close the distance and gt within the desired orbit range for whatever ship im in.
Now, regular orbiting is great, orbit with no mwd and you will not be hit by bigger guns, beautiful.
But if they fire a cruise missle of top, and they always will, you *need* to hit the mwd so the missles dont hit, now the bigger guns can hit you.
I was under the impression that the large missles would not beable to track a small moving target, period.
Now with the new mwd change and the missles still able to hit smaller ships. Frigates go back to being near useless.
And yes, ive tried and tried and tried.
