Edited by: Fail cakes on 02/10/2008 03:31:45 Hi, the same day I installed the latest patch my computer hasn't booted or anything when I restarted my computer.
What happens is I turn on my computer, It does nothing on the screen or anything and just keeps running the fans full speed.
Could this have anything to do with the latest patch? Does anybody know how to fix it? I have recently finished a part of a game I have been coding and I'm scared I might of lost it.
If anyone needs any more infomation about what happens just ask, I'd really like this problem fixed.
Thanks. Most people enter eve hoping to be leaders of industries, but they forget that somebody has to clean the toilets! :P |

This can be closed now.
The problem was fixed after I tried the following: * Turned my computer on and off many times. * Pulled out all the plugs and plugged them all back in. * switched off my power supply and switched it back on. * Cleaned out the dust from inside my computer (do NOT use a vacuum!!!)
I'm not sure which of these fixed it because i tried them all twice and in between turned on and off my computer a few times. After it finally decided to show a picture on the screen a 'windows recovery' process was starting and after about 5 minutes my computer worked as normal again.
Unfortunately vista didn't tell me anything about what had just happened lol.
And I don't think this had anything to do with the new patch, but I had heard of the whole boot.ini config file situation from trinity so I figured I'd ask here just encase. Most people enter eve hoping to be leaders of industries, but they forget that somebody has to clean the toilets! :P |
