For the UK, we are billed in euros.
For 1 month subscriptions, this is:
EU 14.99 = GBP 12.50 = USD 18.87.
(According to xe.com at the time of writing.)
A 60 day GTC costs USD 34.99 as far as I am aware.
Only took about 20 comments before someone actually starts looking at the situation from an objectve point of view even though it might not change anything still takes a look anyway.
THANKYOU for getting it.
as others have said, these points have been made dozens, if not hundreds of times. you come here and ask a oft-asked question, don't like the answers and get antagonistic and then get super-excited when someone points out the obvious (which, again, has been talked to death here, ad nauseum)
the problem in this thread is NOT the other posters.

I agree. Time for some out of box thinking. I think some are being way to negative dudes against this topic. So what if its posted before. Anyone else got any ideas?
How about cancelling GTC's completly and CCP making it possible for all credit cards and bank cards of more countries to be accepted for the one's without credit cards.
If other companies can do it so can CCP.

Not sure if you've even read the posts, but here, let me break it down for you.
CCP charges a subscription for X amount. X being roughly $15 US, but converted into that countries payment system (include VAT where applicable).
30 day GTC's were sold at the same price by wholesales sites which was the same price for the US at least, to pay the game at the month. Wholesale sites purchase them for Y amount again depending on currency.
If CCP were to police how much GTC's were sold for, then why don't they have an automatic purchasing site attached to www.eve-online.com and waste time to wholesales?
Once sold, CCP cannot police what their wholesalers sell it for. Sure, they could sell it for cheaper, but will the wholesalers sell for the same price to increase their profits?
If CCP said, you can only sell for X ammount, you need to figure, with overhead, is it worth it? Probably not, then you will have a domino effect. People will stop selling GTC's as it is not worth it, which means players will stop buying it, which means people will stop playing EVE for those who cannot afford it, which means CCP, in theory, will lose out on 2x kinds of income because of the whole deal.
So, what do we have? A player run GTC market that is priced and valued by players, because of the price they purchase them, their stupidity on how much isk they can milk out of each card (for those selling at stupidly low prices). The demand is there. The supply is there. The willing to part with isk is there. You just get a lot of cannon fodder between the trades :)

and gtc price in USD went up, the exchange rate of gpb to usd went down (was around 2:1, now is closer to 1.5:1), so yes game time cards got more expensive for you.
the isk/mineral faucets are on quite high and the sink has a tiny hole, hence in game price has gone up. this combined with ghost training getting disabled.
how does this benefit ccp, well they are recovering some of their "losses" from EU players buying gtcs in USD. As for the rest, well it is really out of their control. yay for exchange rates. |

Dear God!!! Please tell me that you are not stupid enough to actually believe that would help the situation. Did you sleep through pre-school level economics class???
Are you by chance familar with a socialist style command economy and the ACTUAL effect on goods and services available to the general public?
In "ALL" cases of government price setting, where price is set low, without reference to the cost of bringing the goods/services to market, the result, in "ALL" cases, is a vast shortage of the good/service in question. There are no exceptions to this, there never have been, and there never will be.
In game example: Old school Lab and office renting. Talk to some old school players about how the renting of labs and offices used to be.

Used to cost me around 7 english pounds a month per account. Its now around 11.50-12 pounds a month per account. or 23-24 pounds in one pop per account every 2 months. Thats over a 50% rise in cost of playing eve.
This combined with the in game isk price rising to 300mill a month or 600 mill in one pop is making it impossible to pay for accounts one way or the other.
How is this benefiting eve or CCP in the long run?
Answer from a GM please.
Take you socialist price fixing methods and put them where the sun doesn't shine. FFS, do you even have an elementry eduction on how supply and demand works? Given the current conditions the best thing that can occur is for you to STOP buying GTCs and let demand come back down to supply - thus reducing cost.

If stupid people and isk famres are hiking up the in game cost for gtc's than I see no reason why CCP can't just put a limit on what GTC's can be sold for.
It's called "capitalism" my friend. If CCP controlled prices, that would defeat the purpose of a player-controlled market. EVE's market is one of the things that makes EVE such a great game. They have a full-time Marketing Advisor for christ's sake, and he's not looking at the real-world market...

I've read the whole bloody thread, so you cant whine about it.
6 months ago. I bought a GTC for 19,40 euro. Right now, I bought a GTC for 26,91 euro.
I blaim the USD regaining some (if not most by now) strenght in value.
And your whining that im asking 200m isk extra for it? Isnt it me who puts down the extra 5 euro to get the GTC in the first place?
Isnt it you that should be happy im willing to spend RL money on a GTC so you can play the game without spending your own money? Or is it me that should be happy that you will pay 600m isk for a RL money GTC?
Tbh, i wonder how you would do if you play WoW, they dont have this system at all.

CCP essentially do set the prices of ingame items. It shouldn't be hard for you to figure out how the ingame market and economy is a contrived idealised one, which (fortunately) does not reflect real world capitalism.
In response to the OP, the question of GTC isk prices will only be addressed by CCP if it begins to threaten their subscription rates. As long as people are willing to pay for all of the GTCs which are bought with real money things will not dramatically change. Putting a cap on GTC for isk prices could discourage people from wanting to sell them, which CCP would see as a bad thing as it might lower the subscription rate.

Nothing new to see here, move along...
That doesn't make us nubs, or sheep or idiots. If you want to stick to the topic, then fine, stick to the topic and beat the dead horse some more with your brand new stick... but the horse is dead, it's been dead, and no amount of new people with new sticks are going to change that.

Whining and complaining about it won't help you. I won't reduce my price for whiners, and if CCP wants to mandate a maximum price, I'll stop selling them.
I'd wager many others agree with me, so no dice.
