Destroyers are very popular glass cannons. They can chuck out great damage using small guns but typically require your support skills to be maxed.
They're great for players who want that cheap throwaway ship and know how to use it. It is sort of a hindrance to younger players however due to a large sig radius and limiting powergrid.

Edited by: Burukt Vri''ra on 07/01/2009 03:08:54 Siigari pretty much hit it on the head. They're great glass cannons, and some can actually have decent tank if all you're fighting is another Destroyer or Frigate. I fought a blaster Catalyst last night, and it did do some nice damage, but most any quick Frigate can stay out of its range if the pilot is thinking. I would think if you were doing a Blaster Catalyst, drop the magstabs and get more speed out of it.
And it's a lie that you need to know what you're doing to fly one right. I got quite a few kills in a rail Cormorant and I have no goddamn clue. --- Burukt "The Eh Team" Vri'ra Locus Industries Amarr Militia Got shot down by a Moros, loved every second |

Edited by: Gierling on 07/01/2009 03:23:08 Take it from someone who PVP'd extensively in one (its my favourite ship and I got my most kills in it).
It plays the following roles well.
Pure portable damage that will not get primaried (You can squeeze out 450 dps with ions, rigs and overheating) Durable second string tackler (I like a 75mm railgun buffer tank for this) Inty-be-gone (125's)
edited to add, its great in small mobile gangs where you either need to keep thier tacklers away or be the unexpected damage source that they dont recognize.
