Edited by: Eddie Gordo on 28/07/2004 12:55:57 A couple of nights ago, 4 amatar pilots came into bosena, "Claiming" it for themselfs to mine in. I was in my home system hrober when I got the news, so I quickly made my way over (three jumps away)
When I arrived, sure enough they were in the system. I flew to a plannet to scan for them, and to my amazement they had left the belts and were at a gate. According to them Their holds were full (1 Apoc, 1 Bestower and some cruisers) and they would "be back"
I locked them up, but with the numbers they had I did not wish to fight against them and the sentry guns, they fled to secure space.....

Well, if the PRM can claim Minmatar Republic systems for themselves, I don't see what's stopping any Tom, **** or Harry doing the same thing.

So which one are you then, Tom, Richard (damn censor) or Harry? Of course I assume you must be one of the above based on the Amarr's claim that all of Minmatar space belongs to them.

My point was, that mining for 15mins and then fleeing at the first sign of danger isnt remotly close to claiming anything. Heck back in the day the pfm mined for hours on end in ammatar space, however we did not delude ourselfs into thinking we owned the joint.

The Nefantar are welcome to contact PIE for a military escort should they feel like stripmining one of the belts in tribal space.
They belong to us, after all. ----------------------------------------------

The Gallantean news agency lives on publicity, so if one can make big headlines from little events it is good for them.
I can understand the concerns of MMC, but I am quite sure that if this would develop into anything with any substance, it would be dealt with by loyal Matari pilots.

Wouldn't the theft of ore, be indeed piracy? As those ore fields are under the jurisdiction of another entity, giving them military escort would be supporting pirates.
Being that your organization has a distaste for pirates, I'm sure you see the irony
Just a thought.

Erm, what exactly are you smoking? Mining in another race's space is piracy now?
I'd just like to point out that on numerous occasions, I've been mining, very much unopposed, in Ammatar space.
I really don't see what the problem is, and I certainly didn't feel the need to trumpet it as some big invasion and major coup against the powers that be.
If the Ammatar want to call their furtive little foray an invasion, then so be it. It proves exactly how pathetic they are. I'd warrant there are hundreds of Free Minmatar mining in Amarr and Ammatar right now, just as there are Caldari in Gallente space, Gallente in Caldari space, Amarr in Minmatar space, Minmatar in Caldari space, etc, etc...
How the heck is a small mining flotilla from the Ammatar showing up in Bosena such a big deal in anyone's but their own deluded imaginings?

It can be if the parties involved are in a state of war. Granted it is benign piracy, but it is the theft of resources to be used against the owners of said resources.
In Caldari and Gallente space, it's a diffrent story since the supply gets placed into the free market avaible to anyone willing to pay for it.

I doubt the amarr imps will have time for this as they are still occupied with "patrolling" (=invading) what they think is theirs. ____________________________________________________

Edited by: zoolkhan on 29/07/2004 12:46:58 May i remind everybody that the PRM is a republic, and as such a democratic and political alternative to the old minmatar goverment which doesnt seem to have the balls to deal with the crime of slavery.
The PRM is _NOT_ a territorial military alliance who claimed the space for PRM citizens alone.
As such, a mining party (whomever that may be) - can hardly be called invasion. Because the PRM had never the intention to close them out from mining.
The only race, that is generally not wanted in PRM space is Amarr while no decision regarding Amatarr has been made, because nobody brought that question to the council yet. (as far my info goes)
May i also bring to your minds that any public announcement (including mine i must admit) has absolutely no value - if not coming from an hi council - spokesman.
Call it Invasion, or call it whatever you like...
The current laws of the prm does not forbid civillians to mine in their space.

It was not in PRM space, rather on its borders. The afformentioned ammatar miners claimed the system saying anyone attempting to mine while they were there would be disposed of. Its more an issue for the republic fleet, but in cases such as this I would say that the PRM has a vested interest in keeping the ammatars out.

that is technically just a speculation, however i agree with you. But my posting was referring to some undereducated, decadent amarr pilot who can hardly fly his ship without some minmatar slaves who keep things fixed ... the very same man has also problems to understand the role of the PRM.
Even worse, some of our own ppl dont understand the role of PRM.
Dont get me wrong, claiming belts & strip mining is nasty behaviour - but we have other worries than to waste our ships in a war against wannabes who claim some scordite.. dont u think?
lets forget this lame incident.
If one of our miners get in trouble, though.. it would change the situation a little..
If Pie thinks they need to escort some lowlives they will find themselves praying for an escort soon enough.
