A pilot called EBC James has been canvassing trade hubs, private convoing people with indistinct offers of 'big returns for investment' in what pretty much amounts to nothing but meaningless platitudes. I have not invested, and thus cannot confirm scam status, but when asked for a bussiness plan and evidence of auditing, he was not forthcoming, and so I thought it best to alert the community at large.
The corporation is EVE Bank of Commerce [EBOC].
If I am wrong in this matter, please could someone post evidence that they are legitimate, otherwise, avoid at all costs - This is a very likely, and quite badly drawn up scam.

Scam
Evidence?
1) Scam to 3rd party a MS 2) Another scam to 3rd party a MS 3) Lottery in which Bank guy buys tickets 2 minutes after lottery is posted after NEVER buying a ticket or even posting on the forums before that 4) The guy spams local trying to get investors
Now, known or expected alts: 1) Firaxai Retribution Enterprises Hedonistic Imperative
2) David Khan - I believe he's part of the scam but not an alt due to timestamp differences in chatlogs listed
3) Hiedokojima - Posting lottery scam that this bank guy invests in. Previous scam here Where he was purchased (hence why someone else vouched in his lottery thread not knowing he had changed hands
In every case this banker dude is virtually playing a 3rd party, or a position where he can get out of it clean if another pulls scam, basically not in a direct scam light using his alts as scapegoats.
--------------- Anyone who chooses to give this guy a drop of isk after 2 minutes of eve-search provides the above information deserves to lose their funds. Instead I prefer they donate the cash directly to my personal wallet placing the word 'gift' in the description field. |

Brock, your real world values have no place in eve, so please stop torlling. No reprucussions to scams (come on, if he has a brain he is using alts) = guilty until he proves legitimacy.
Drop a bill on his investment if you love him so much.
Also TY ricdic, I appreciate your assistance and swift reply. No been scammed yet, thanks to the advice of people on thsi board, so just trying to pass on the love.

I guess there is also a clue in his sig on that character sale: 'all i want is to be hunted'. With the sheer number of third rate scammers trawling local, and spamming chat invites, I'm surprised this guy warrants his own thread to be honest.

David Khan is my alt, I'm not part of this scam. Trust me, I've done a lot better in the past than trying to do some third party idiocy. I exposed his scam in the thread with another of my alts, but it was removed by one of the forum moderators. |

Although I have no idea what EvE Bank of Commerce is about, I'd say at first glance that your post is very... how do I put it... controlling? English isn't my first language, and sometimes I cant explain things the way I want to. What I mean is that your in more then one place telling everyone what to do. Even if he had a big sign on his farhead with the line "I AM A SCAMMER" I still think what you did there is wrong on some lvl.
regardless thanks for the information and heads up |

You are saying that Ricdic providing proof that EBC James is, indeed, a scammer is wrong? If so please invest all of your money in his 'enterprise' or give me all of your money and I will ensure a nice return on it
English might not be your first language but you haven't mastered common sense either. |

Didn't see no proof, nor Ricdic. Also, I didn't mean it was wrong of him (presuming now it is Ricdic) to let everyone know that he is indeed likely to be scammer, its just the way he said it that seems a bit too direct and "do this, and not this, cause I'm right". To be honest I didn't know the OP, I'm still new around here, and I dont know everyone and their alts yet. Had it tho been Ricdic directly posting it, I'd have sticked with "Thanks for the heads up"
I need to stop posting at this late hours. Ohh lobster

Well everything is controlled by CCP (Except Transfers with EBANK and DBANK WOOT out of game websites!) so I do not really see your point. |

I got had by EBC james as well. He advertises expensive ships at slightly lower prices than they normally go for. That gets your interest. Then he gives you a line about how long it takes to make them and he wants a down payment before he makes your ship. He got me there...I gave the down payment...I was stupid....
Then when it gets time to deliver your ship he will tell you a story about how someone else already gave him a prepayment and if you want your ship on time you need to give him the full amount now. I didn't fall for that.
Anyhow...this scammer refuses to use contracts...he wants your money in payments and when all is said and done he laughs and calls you a fool. I can see where newer players probably fall for his crap alot and he probably makes lots of money.
Most seasoned eve players would probably not fall for his scam...but being a noob I didn't know any better. I cornered him on the ship channel and he admitted to being a scammer and laughed at the whole channel. I have seen him advertise some research slot scam as well but don't know how that one works.
EBC James is a scammer! Don't trust him...

I am sorry, in MD forums it is just the opposite - it is "SCAMMER, till proven otherwise."

If it smells fishey and he is not forthcoming with support material than guilty till proven innocent in my opinion.

That is the law in America, however neither CCP, the cluster nor EVE is situated in America. If you want to draw real life examples; Say you are going to invest a chunk of money into something, you would be unwise not to request them to prove their innocence to you. They need your money for something, it's their burden to ensure you, not the other way around.
