It would be nice if the directional scanner projected a visible cone of the area that you are scanning. Would make finding directions many many times easier. Also if tould be good if the problem with the map and the directional scanner were to be ...

Research should be more predictable. I agree with the ideas of known progress that you are proposing here. Researching should take more than just buying a research slot also though. I like a tech tree. (I think it has been proposed in the bast but...
