You are refuring to the ma runs an individual bpc can have. so 1 bpc can have a max run of 100 (as in this excample) so you can indeed make 5 bpc with 100 runs.

I think you can use it in al mining situations as long you can fit the minning forman moduls on the ship you are using. the bonusus is aplied on the moduls, not the ship.
