Okay, yesterday my computer was running fine. I was able to play all the games I like without trouble.
Then I tried install a client and install the test server patch. After 4+ hours of trying to install them, i still didn't have a functioning client that could connect to SISI. This was aggravating in itself. One time I got an error 25. Several other attempts I got a window telling me that something was wrong with certain files and told me I might need to restart my computer.
Immediately after messing around with this for 4 hours, other games on my computer stopped to function properly. Left 4 Dead particularly crashes when certain affects occur(particularly shooting my gun). Some of the other Source games that I play have extremely reduced frame rates. I can only assume that this is a direct result from the server patches.
I will, to my best ability, file a bug report, but I'm also asking people on the forums for possible explanations and ways to fix this problem.
BTW - My computer runs Vista Buisness 64b, 4200X2 AMD processor, 3g DD2 RAM, Geforce 7800 GTX

Okay, I have had no issues and am running Windows XP Pro 32-bit. I had 64-bit installed, but my graphics drivers (nvidia 8800gts 640mb) started failing. At this point, I said 64-bit Vista sucks, and went back to 32-bit XP. Runs better now than it did before.

Well, not quite the suggestion I was looking for. I would rather not pay a couple hundred $$$ for a new OS(and no, I'm not going to linux).

Check on Craig's List in your area. I found Windows XP Pro 32-bit LEGIT UNUSED for $20 bucks...it's outdated now
