Maybe I've forgot how Empyran Age ended but I can't remember anything about Jamyl ordering the ship to be stored at a rogue drone super hive.
Any way this was a really good story. Liked it a lot. Can't wait for the next one
Also could Jamyl's superweapon actually be the weapon that the Jovians were supposed to be building: The Armageddon Project ? Maybe it got stolen and now they want it back. (BTW that chronicle came out in 2003~2004. I just love how all the fiction here ties together. Just like the chronicle "Myth of a salesman" from 2003~2004 tells the story of the Broker and then he pops up as a main character in Empyrian Age ) Originally by: Clansworth -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am not much of a role-player, but I do see value in stuff being somewhat based on some so |

Nice to see how the myriad guesses are slowly getting more in tune with what we've got planned. No Milky Way, though.
Lots of people asked about the Abaddon and the drone hive. You need to read Tony's novel to get the full picture, but the implication is basically that Sarum - or someone in her court - had it moved to storage with the drones.
Everyone should keep in mind that some parts of the storyline will only be revealed in-game after Apocrypha, and some facts will possibly never be completely revealed at all.

I imagine that the Blood raiders are convinced through their beliefs that they harvest for themselves but they are deluded slaves.. and their job is to supply their leaders with crucial ingredients in Drone manufacture technology harvested from their unfortunate victims... Drone technology that is controlled by mysterious forces who have programmed the drones to create their super weapon in secret deep in space uninhabited by humans... ...although the weapon has great destructive power is to be used to tear a hole in the fabric of spacetime to create a bridge to a theoretical location... discovered by a psychotic physicist genius who lost control of his mind and became a gibbering wreck immediately after proving his theory correct.

You ppl need to read the book again. Who found the wep?!?!? Well Marcus Jror did. Here somthing u need to read in the book
"Bristling with Salvage equipment and Deep-space scanning arrays, the Signifiance was the only ship of it kind in the amarr military. At more then twice the cost of a carrier, it was 'cross-capsule variant' starship: although captained by a pod pilot, the ship was equipped with an internal pod gantry, allowing the pilot to be extracted and leaving him free to roam about its structure.
On another part of fact.
Despite being nearly a kilometre in length, the research vessel had a crew of exacly one - Marcus.
Here somthing more, this ship is 3.1 lightyears from point genesis and doing it thing and not being blown up by genesis but the Jovians BS at the end of the book was 30 lightyears and it went pop.
The CCP Abraxas says "but the implication is basically that Sarum - or someone in her court - had it moved to storage with the drones."
Later in the book in short Jamyl Sarum told Marcus to fine what in her. So he may of moved it there for safe keepings for what in her might do somthing to the rest of eve. The fact the drone are also refuling the wep with the isogen-5, the one thing the drone can move safly and the one thing the superwep need to fire.
As for what the sistor were seeing on scanners. We may be invaded from our older counderparts or it just reson to make wormholes open again as there only been 1 to be known to work which is nest to the new eve gate.
What you think CCP?

hahaha, imagine this: J. Sarum: "James, put my superweapon in the garage, it looks like there will be a meteor rain and I don't want the golden hull to be scratched." Royal facility manager James: "As you wish, your majesty. I shall put it next to the toy drones you used to play with as a little princess, just left of the sweeping-robot."

Quote: A new voice spoke, one that was unknown to the captain. It felt emotionless and dead. It said, "Are you listening?"
why do i get the feeling that that voice came from a pod pilot? we are the only once that can do what the voice said he would do with this mega ship. ---

That's because all terran debris is hidden by stealth fields the Jove put up. It's in the book. Marcus only found that device because he had the right ship and Jamyl told him where to look.
Only people who could know of that location would be the Jove, or maybe their mortal enemies, the Enheduanni. The latter is actually more likely, considering what was done to Jamyl and the new abilities she got 'gifted' with.
My guess on what will happen next is that the Raiders get the thing to the Jove and while they're doing their research thing, the Thukkers attack and get blown to bits by the Raiders using the weapon. But along with the Thukkers, the present Jove get blown up, too, seriously angering the lot of them.
So the Jove cut off the Raiders from the Iso-5 supplies by reprogramming the drones again, leaving the Raiders with a one-hit wonder, which they want to bring to the one place worth nuking, Amarr Prime.
Hey, CCP, if the story ever gets to scorching a planet, could you add a texture to the victim to show the damage?

A better end for religious wack jobs I've seldom heard :)
However - I do begin to wonder if the new race are in fact human at all?
As for the cold voice, I'm more inclined to think Jove, we know they're an aloof bunch at the best of times.

Here's my 2isk, chances are the Empress has it sent back there to be refueled with Isogen 5 and store it for future use.
Second, the EVE gate was in fact built next the wormhole that brought humanity to new eden, it collapsed 70 years I think before the gate went FUBAR. What if the wormhole came back but led to a different section of space altogether? Just like the wormholes coming in the next expansion.
BTW the EVE gate is only broke beacause something happened on the milky way side thats coming through the gate. We arn't seeing Earth again.....

Great story!
I have a doubt, though. Shouldn't the captains of both ships, the Blood Raiders, and the Sisters, be in their pods, somewhere in their ships, or are those ships of old models and the captains aren't pod pilots?

And folks, I'm sorry about the lack of replies in the last thread. You're all doing a wonderful job of guessing what might lie ahead, and I can't tell you much about what we're planning. What I ask you to do is keep the long-term in mind. This series of stories is only the beginning. There will be content, both in-game and out, that moves things forward. If your idea of the storyline (and the forces behind it) isn't realized immediately, give it time. Give it many months, even. Considering the plans we've been hatching, chances are you'll eventually see something like what you expected.
So my theories about the Enheduanni really being a fedo hive mind might end up being true?
Originally by: Borgh Brainbasher hehe, I secretly hope the drones will blue-screen and reboot in safe mode just as the blood raiders board the ship. That would be awewsome, although a sentient machine like a drone is highly unlikely to run well on windows.
I can just imagine that little helper paperclip popping up and saying "It appears you are trying to eat a ship, would you like to have ship eating programing uploaded to your hard drive? If so wave one of your tentacles in the affirmative direction."

Thukkers arrive in time to see what the Blood Raiders are up to, figure out that they need to either capture or destroy the ship.
The ship has some of the technology used to temporarily create Wormholes in space.
As a result of the struggle and its payload, the ship implodes instead of exploding creating a Wormhole and essentially tearing the fabric of space where Wormholes start to become a more common occurence. Linkage |

I just hope that we get enough carnage in Empire to drive a wave of refuge colonists out into capsuler (0.0) space.
Thus leading to colonizable planets, redone Sov mechanics, and assorted related goodness.
And yes, still waiting for the EVE gate to reopen and the Eden Cluster to return in its conquering glory....

Edited by: Hammering Hank on 21/02/2009 08:41:10 Did anyone read the Wormhole story in E-ON? Seems like there are other experiments going on in other regions of space. The super weapon was able to destroy an entire Minmatar armada with one blast above Mekhios, including a titan and mothership as we saw on the Empyrean Age trailer. In a previous use, it wiped out a Bloodraider gate camp though the gate camp probably did not contain capitals. However, we learned in the novel that the second shot killed Jamyl's entire crew and she was severely weakened. This kind of power can easily distort space or punch holes in the space / time continuum.
Isogen-5 is also very unstable or volatile (story language). If the Thukkers shoot the hive, there is a chance that they can set off an enormous chain reaction explosion. And we do not know how much Isogen-5 was used in the previous shot. What would happen if enough was used to destroy a planet.
As for the after affects of the weapon, the Sanctuary scientist found the signature (either of Isogen-5 or its affects on space) in Genesis around the gate where the book indicates the weapon was found. The scientist went into the Bloodraider territory and found it again where Jamyl killed the Bloodraiders. Then again in Amarr where Jamyl fired the weapon at the Minmatar. Any finally, the scientist found the source in T-IPZB in the drone hive. It is interesting to note that the scientist could detect the cloaked Abaddon because of the Isogen-5 it contained.
Now the speculation. Could Isogen-5 be the element that powered the Eve wormhole? The theory is that once the Isogen-5 was used up, the wormhole collapsed. The weapon uses the awesome power of the Isogen-5 for destruction, whereas it can also be used to power wormholes. Sort of like the power of Uranium can be used for energy, medical purposed, and also for great destruction.
This theory means that if the Isogen-5 source in the Terran station (as the book theorizes the drones are in a station built by the original colonizers of EVE) is disbursed throughout the EVE universe by an enormous explosion, wormholes could be powered up all over. Also, since the Isogen-5 signature can be seen and possibly measured, we will be able to find the wormholes easily and somewhat determine how long until they collapse.
That is my conclusion. What do you think?

Like where it's all going. Can't see any faction or individual getting a hold of Sarum's weapon, it would change the balance of power to much.
Here's a question, was the Terran tech used to create Sarum's weapon a weapon itself or was it the Terran equivalent of a warp core or an energy transfer array, something benign that Sarum and Marcus turned into a weapon?
I know it's not going to happen but I would love it if the EVE wormhole was self-aware or that the ruins of the EVE gate still had a functioning AI inside of it. Something that was watching and planning...

You are right, the balance is off. If my theory is correct, the Isogen-5 research and use will be opened for all of the empires and heavily regulated by CONCORD at the least. Another possible outcome is that the weapon is destroyed along with the Terran base, making the ability to continue development of Isogen-5 technologies nearly if not completely impossible.

Neither the book nor any story line has ever revealed the true origins of the weapon, as no one seems to understands the technology behind it or are at least not telling their understandings. Remember that we keep finding Sleeper, Takmahl, Talocan, and Yan Jung items around the EVE universe, but no one really understand how they work.

There is no secret on that. Just buy empyrean age book and read it. Its a Terran weapon. Yes from EArth from BEFORE the eve gate closure. So.. wonder how advanced earth is on "today" at eve universe?

Amazing story :) And really funny compared to the last episode.
And the greeting of the blood raiders leader was like... "Hello, I am the biggest scoundrel of the known world. And who are you?" :) Made me smile.
Not to mention that I really like the idea that the douge drones can be reconfigured. Nice description about how they started to lose their IQ. Maybe there will be some new drones in the new patch the devs didn't tell us? That would be great if we could use rouge drones as our own drones! ------------------------
