Do they drift? I had a thought i could take an orca into a wormhole with a specialized prober ship to find these profession sites... i smell profit :* and a ship to kill these sleepers... still not sure if i can fit a battleship in there... and ofcourse a ****load of ammo and probes anyway thats what i tought... the general question is Do abadoned ships drift away?

Only when players probe them out and steal them

as the poster above me says, they stay where they are indefinitely - past DT, etc - and don't move unless someone finds them. it's why you can find shuttles and rookie ships if you scan, as people fly to ships in this and abandon them there.

What he said. I am hoping for many opportunities to practice abandoned ship salvaging in W-Space. ------------------ Ironfleet.com |

That one time I bumped an empty falcon with a CovOps and it drifted for nearly two hours, several Billion km until it finally stopped again. So keep probes nearby to find you ship in case of an accident.

Problem is you will not be able to solo worm holes. I have heard from the test server that it will take a 10 man Cap team to take on the sleepers and win. Huge damage from the npcs in there.

That rumor has grown a bit in the telling. The wormholes on the test server are not open yet, but the devs apparently spawned some HIGH-END worm rats that were pwning capships. They did state, however, that not all wormhole rats would be quite so brutal.
The base point is true, though. The devs seem very confident that taking on wormhole rats will not be a solo project. However, given what they've said about mass limits, I think they are hoping for modest gangs in ships of moderate mass, operating for the most part without capship support. ------------------ Ironfleet.com |

Not indefinitely, just until the next first-of-the-month trash clean up (same as freight cans and unanchored secure cans not as a POS).

Just to be clear, shuttles and rookie ships get swept up in the monthly trash cleanup. All other ships remain in space forever, just where you left them, until somebody takes them or blows them up. ------------------ Ironfleet.com |
