Another thing, security status or corp affiliation arn'y absolute guidlines of who will or will not shoot you.
Another thing you can do is zoom way out to watch out for people entering your belt. In the meantime use your range scanner to see if someone may be looking for you.

best word of advice: Omber is your friend, found in .5 and above. aswell as kernite. go mine it and only phear suicide alts and orethiefs.

More advice to miners:
Don't be a tard and leave your bestower and thorax at a crappy safespot because I'll find it. ;)

Good information and I'd add this rule: if anyone you don't know enters your belt lock and fire (or run). Don't ask questions or hesitate. You can apologize later if necessary.

Better word of advive: Scordite is more of a friend, found in 1.0, makes more of a profit, and that's not even including the fact that you can use more miners\mining drones due to the lack of npc's. Selling prices for the ore is high-skying in gallente space not to mention the minerals

Well it was written with avoiding pirates etc in low-sec space in mind, rather than a 'how to mine' guide - hence me putting it in Crime & Punishment
