Hey. I've been trying my hand at trading things recently...got a few million off of it, but after quite a few trips in my Iteron..so I'm just wondering how I find good stuff to trade around. I can't expect you to tell me specific items, that'd be kinda stupid, but just how to find the items to trade on my own. Thanks in advance.

Read the stickies for a start. The thing about trading is that initially it is very slow and tedious since you don't know what to look for but later on you can be in any region and spot opportuinites within minutes.

You're welcome
You're looking for items with low buy orders and high sell orders, either in the same station or in different areas (regions, usually). The former brings you less per transaction (usually) but allows you to a far greater number of transactions since you're not wasting time moving stuff.

This, the new coming question thread has at least three posts that I can think of that cover the graphing in the market window, information which when applied correctly gives you a lot of indicators on what to trade when you look through the various items in game. |

Take a look on attribute implants for example. People get them as a reward, this often happens in distant stations with good agents, most of their buyers are however on local hub, there might be an opportunity? Also... buy orders, use them.

I started by trading items I used regularly. And then expanding by experimenting with limited numbers of new items. If they sold quickly, I slowly increased my inventory levels. If they didn't, I quit stocking them.
Some items sell fast with lower profit margins, other items sell slower but with much higher profits. Plan to spend a few weeks or a few months finding what works for you in your area.

FunzzeR's 5 steps to trading success:
1. Load up a spreadsheet program 2. Enter price data (either comparing prices in two regions, or finding the differential between buy and sell orders intra-region. 3. Trade the items that have the best spreads/margin 4. ??? 5. Profit
Seriously though it is that simple, don't overthink or over analyze.

And we all know that Pancakes are going to have too much flavor. Expect a Pancake nerf in about 3 months after Pancake launch, just before Waffles hit the test server.
Honestly, I just can't stop drooling over the maple syrup vids. The maple syrup expansion is going to be bigger and better than pancakes and waffles combined!!!!

Be careful to also look at the amount being sold. I.e look at the graphs. It is a waste of time trying to sell 10000 units of something if only 1 or 2 units a day are sold. You may find a better system nearby with slightly less profit but willingness to buy all your goods.

That will only get you the total profit, it ignores time. Profit/time is what is important.
