Concur.
My votes:
"White Room" by Demons and Wizards (orig by Cream, if you haven't heard this and like the orig but in a metal theme, d/l NOW!!!) "White Rabbit" by Blue Man Group (orig by Jefferson Airplane) "The Power" by H-Blox (orig by C&C Music Factory)
Each one of them are hard-hittin' head-banging goodness!
If ECM is an act of aggression, why am I not on kill mails?

I like Metallicas version of Whiskey in the jar..
But I usually dont keep track of which song is a cover and such things, so there might be a cover I like more that I don't know is a cover.

I got the ordinary non-White Room-cover-as-a-bonus-track disc. Must.. find.. cover.. song. --- Having recently acquired a lab slot (thank you, rental bug), I wholeheartily concur, there's absolutely no problem with lab slots! |

Dear go, thats based on an OLD irish song. I dont know the original name, but I know the point. A fairly lazy guy robs a rich ulsterman. The english go off to find an kill him, and his wife "Molly" to save her own ass, sells him out. At least I think thats how it orignally went. damn, been a while.
My favorite covers, and I HATE covers, are the only covers I've EVER heard that were equal to or better than the original.
One: Redone by John Davis of Korn of the Hetfield, Ulrich, and Burton original. I honestly like this version more because something about the sound of every song on "...And Justice for All" seems a little off.
Bakers Street: Redone by the Foo Fighters as a remake of the Jerry Raferty orignal. I really dont know which one is better though.
I am Jack's broken moral compass. I am Jack's STILL trapped in eve limbo. maybe not for much longer... |

i see your Blue Men and raise you The Dammned... same song
but geez, some good ones above...
there's also the Gravity Kills version of Strange Days... it was a truly hidden track on a mediocre album which i found accidentally, and is the only good song on it - which few people knew about, ironically. It was hidden *before* track one... i forget the damn album name. You hadda start the disk, hold the "shuffle back" button to negative 4:50 or so (too far and it reset!), and there it was.
watchtower and hurt are hard to top really.
But just to Hurt yourself, you should find
1) Rammstein's cover of Depeche Mode's "Stripped" 2) BiGod 20's cover of Madonna's "Like A Prayer"
bwaaahahahahahaha
play them for your friends for the first time when they're roaring drunk and watch the fun
You are in a maze of twisty little asteroids, all alike. |

Yah, It just sounds poorly produced. Puppets was great, and the black album was great, but it sounds extremmely out of place, and well, crappy. I love metallica, and I've been to a couple metallica concerts and those songs sounded fine, its not the songs themselves, its the album.

if you don't wake up, i'll have to stop kissing you. all that flailing has made you sleepy. you rest while i untie you. stay here until they find you. My hand made mannequin. i won't let them get you. they'll know you're mine by the fingerprints on your throat. isn't she lovely? isn't she wonderful? like the *****s that we are, swatting flies from the wounds we design. |
