Ah haaa.. no this isn't one of those how many RP's have you got threads... this is a question that is now bugging me..
When researching first came about with the Castor release, I had seen some info that mentioned you needed 1000 rp's in a particular field to be entered into the lottery. This now appears not to be the case, and I wondered if anyone knew if there was any limit as such?
Ifa dev could answer too that would be great :)

Well, I have 53k in Cal starship and I am very sure that I am no where near the top of that list.

I got 60k in same field. God only knows where I am on the list.

Current R&D-system would be some what more interesting if CCP could, at least, reveal (periodic) the total amount of rp in a give field and given time. Would add an element of strategy to the research.

I gave up on doing research mssions pretty much because I could not tell if it was worth it. All I saw was a slowly increasing total of RPs and the loss in time and money to do it. This RP figure is meaningless to me. It gives me absolutely no idea of my chances of a BPO and consequently is not really much of a motivation to bother.
This was only reinforced when I heard that some peeps where getting their second Interceptor BPOs having accumulated in total far less RPs than I had when I have never been offered anything. I just concluded that it was probably not worth the time and effort. I would change my mind if I could tell how many lottery tickets I had of the total.

well, just to depress people, I currently have over 300,000 rp's in Cal Starship. And no BP.
