Heya, I am new here!
While creating this char I have read the User and Character Name Policy. Now ingame I wondered, how comes that there are, for example, 21 chars beginning with "******".
As you can see, even the Forum censors this particular name, I think you can see it if you go on Quote, anyways he was the Leader of Germany during WW2.
Granted, they added something to the end of their names, does that make it okay? Not to mention the many other Chars with names of likewise criminal dictators etc.
However, I find it disturbing and it looks like CCP accepts those names since many are ingame for months and years.

So you're saying CCP needs to manually keep track of hundreds of thousands of character names to prevent people from making them?
Instead CCP has made a far more sensible and safe way to enforce their rules: they rename the character when some reports the offending name. Bam problem solved. Did you try that?

They kept the name cuz no one took affiance of it, until till you. If it bothers you that much, start sending out petitions to every name that bothered you. Let me know how you feel after making 50 petitions. ---

The problem isn't the policy. It is the stupid forum filters. They should fix the forum language filters, then this wouldn't be an issue.
Sig is now EVE related. Happy mods?

Edited by: DaxSnake on 22/02/2009 19:08:47 If your referring to H.itler ?
Its not really a bad word so i dont know how it would be cencored. The person ADOLF H.ITLER was an evil man but its a NAME, not a dirty word.
I mean im sure he wasnt the only person in existance to have the last name H.itler
so thats just rediculous.
when have we begun retiring names from the english language as unusable?

I blame the Harry Potter series for encouraging this habit.

It always amused me that the word "na.zi" was censored here.

The problem is that they use that name in order to be disruptive, not because they sincerly like the name or anything of that sort.

From what I understand, they are working on it and it should be implemented about the same time as the fixing of all the drone bugs.

Pretty much. He took the name from his stepfather Johann Georg Hiedler, and the different spelling was probably done by a registry clerk. I don't think you will find any H.itlers anywhere that aren't referencing Adolf. All of his surviving relatives changed their names.
