I have a few characters for various nefarious purposes.
I have two forum characters, they just sit idle and have never trained a skill. I do have two accounts, and my 'mains' do this:
Main 1
PvP & Missions. Does little else. Formerly director of a PvP corp until my social calender got in the way, now solo. 
Main 2
Mining, manufacturing & general industry. Invention, POS manager and director of a decent sized industry corporation.
... wait... leaving eve is an alt?

To artificially run up the numbers on my corp. 
They once had a purpose, but having all the corp toys available has made the poor old alts obsolete.
Sig is now EVE related. Happy mods?

It's better arguing with an alt in local, especially about some RL incident. Other players bound to side with one or the other.
Start an argument and get several people to join in on both sides then go quiet and let them carry on the argument as if they were directly involved. A bit like a live version of the forums really

all these are on the same accoutn btw, im sticking to my game of not having multiple accoutns

I've come to realize something about Jenny Spitfire... It seems like the character is cursed, like the mandrake root, every person that inhabits her must forever troll the forums of EVE until the day they find another person willing to pay the price for great power. The curse however only allows for the transfer to a person that is worse at trolling than the current owner, and thus starting from the greatest of trolls, there has been an inevitable decline as each owner seeking power but eventually fearing the consequences in the afterlife if they were to die in possession of Jenny Spitfire, decide to pass her on.
From the greatest of trolls, now unable to find a troller worse, doomed.

I use my alt to do whatever my main is doing. Whatever I am doing my alt is with me, I do not function correctly without her presence. This is not my main or my main's alt...:P

I've always felt that "Oh sure, i could pop a 20/month to make a mining alt." or "Sure, i could put some cash out there to make a hauling alt" but then i realize...this funny notion...that i could just buy a GTC, convert it to ISK and it'd drive the same effect
Also it doesn't help that a GTC costs the same as a good bottle of Jack Daniels. The choice is not that hard
