Edited by: Kane Starkiller on 24/02/2009 16:12:09 As you probably have no doubt noticed a fair amount of paying customers have been getting "socket closed errors" which happen at random and become a debilitating problem while trying to play. Now I will not go into depth regarding this problem as it has a fairly detailed account in two MASSIVE THREADS here and here.
Now while reading through both of these threads and picking out PLAYER provided tips and help, I've come to realize that you (CCP) have posted perhaps 5 times at best, and they were pretty useless tips that you posted.
So for my sake and for the sake of everyone who is affected with this problem please tell us either one of two truths:
-> That you are feverishly working on this problem and hope to have some updates on it soon.
-> Or that you just don't give a **** and therefore abandoning a minority of DEDICATED PAYING CUSTOMERS to work this out for themselves.
So just let us know. The eyes of everyone who is affected with this are watching . . .

As its a general problem, happening to almost everyone with an ATI card, and there is no warning that those cards are not supported we may see a refund of the lost game time? I atleast lost a few weeks on all three of my accounts...
If there's enough of us willing to put through with it we may even consider uniting and sueing this company, if its not for the "bugs" in the game then it will be for not mentioning "ati not supported".

I have a gforce. The card is irrelevant to loosing ones connection to the game. Run pingplotter and you will see that the last and second to last hop before the eve serves are dropping packets like hotcakes. If it was my problem and I was causing it I would accept that, but its not. I was once able to connected and stay connected to eve as long and often as I wanted. Two patches later . . . . well, it got f***ed up.

It's posts like this that make CCP ignore petition threads like this. Vidcards and connectivity. Uh, yeah.
If you bothered to read the 18 pages of the "Socket" thread, you'd know that there's more than enough PingPlotter results pointing at the EXACT SAME bad hops to the server, regardless whether the player is in NA, England or Uranus.
Your video card has nothing to do with connectivity.

I think we are not talking about the same problem, hence that is why i'm not gonna read 18 pages of socket errors. I'm talking about the graphics bug crashing my vid card up to a hard freeze where i have to reboot, which is also being reported in several very long threads.

It's you that's mistaken - the OP refers to "Socket errors".
The ATI issue also has it's own thread though (the "Gate fire" one).
Can people please learn to check other threads before creating new ones (and read the OP before replying)? ===================================== It smells of spoon! ===================================== |

That's cool. Me = teh fail. Personally, I firmly believe in creating as many threads as possible until CCP notices them. Keep fighting the good fight, soldier!

No ones asking you to read those pages. Had you read my original post it states clearly that I want CCP to give some answers regarding this problem. Your input on the other hand, accomplishes nothing in retrospect.
Let's try to stay on topic, shall we?

Edited by: Warrio on 29/03/2009 01:03:02 Good to see that whining about one issue has derailed the thread about another issue. Way to stick it to CCP. Showed them. sXe |
