Hi,
I'm a reletively new (about a year)caldari pilot, now i stupidly trained straight up to battleship because i thought it be cool (lol) to have one in pvp. Now its only in the last few months ive come to realise that tech 2 'smaller' frig or cruiser size ships are better for pvp. So i trained for HAC'S so the cerberus came along now i thought wait this is a little better, a bit of speed pretty good dps decent shield tank (well considering) but then you come up against something like the zeolot with 7 lows, thats a much better tank plus space in mids for tackling and probably a much better dps.
Now this annoys me as ive spent all this time training up and im near enough to stealth bombers (manticore) and interceptors (crow). So i therefore, if people are willing, want to ask if someone can rekindle my passion for tech 2 caldari ships in pvp by saying a decent ship to fly for pvp (or by giving me a cerberus fit to beat a zeolot lol) or by giving me a decent new race to train up.
But first as ive lost a bit of patience in the whole caldari situation, can someone tell me that i havent waisted my time training these skills up for caldari.

Raven good for lvl 4s, apparently.

The T2 Harpy rock!
Drake is good.
Cerb is good is used right and in a gang (not a solo ship).
Onyx is good.
I would also say that stealth bombers are not good in PvP. I rather go for a proper dps ship, or and AF/Inty.
Crow is also decent.
Raven or Rokh is also good in gangs.
Caldari got a lot of gang ship, and not as many solo boats as the other races.

People will tell you that Caldari ships are "good in gangs" or "fleets" but if you're looking for a well rounded ship that can fit gank, tank, and tackle and hold its own in solo/small PvP, Caldari have precious few of those.
The Eagle is a sniper boat with 2x optimal bonuses and so is pretty useless for small scale PvP and the Cerberus also pales in comparison to many other HACs for this kind of role.
Stealth bombers are generally considered useless right now so I wouldn't bother with the manti.
However, you'll be happy to know that the harpy is a very solid assault frigate. It can do great damage for a frig, fit tackle, and still have decent survivability. The crow isn't a bad interceptor, as well.
Also, your missile skills won't be wasted, as you can train for a Sacrilege, which is a very strong small scale PvP vessel.
You can also use your Caldari skills to fly a raven in level 4 missions to farm cash to buy your PvP ships.
