having a thought one random day mining in Paye... we shud have navy issue abaddons... (then to be fair wed have to have the other factions equivelant)
like, having a bit of a bigger drone bay and more mid and low slots for modules... stuff like that!
so... i expressed the thought to some alliance friends, and they thought it'd be an excellent idea and told me to make a thread on the forums to see what other people thought...
so... what do the capsuleers of EVE think of this idea??

Whilst a beautiful Hyperion hull being marred by a Linda Blair vomit-esque paint job does cause a tingling sensation in my plums, I think the ships we already have could still use some TLC.

i agree on that actually, i think they need tome attention, the abaddon for instance... needs to look more like the concept art i think and less like a lego model lol :) |

Yes it was.
At the same time i was trying to raise a point: for what reason?
These new ships would hardly cover a function not already covered by others.
As such it would be only an aesthetic improvement, not a gameplay one.
Or do you also have a proposal to what function these ship should serve? |

The normal "Navy" treatment gives an EHP boost, fitting buff and extra weapon slot. Tier 3 BS already have 8 guns (right? Haven't seen a Hype in ages), so that part at least would need to be looked at.
I'd rather see some sort of cool new pvp-capable T2 BS, but they'd need a specific niche inorder to not be solowtfpwn-mobiles. |

Why wouldn't there be a navy variant of the third tier BS? The Abaddon could use some more tank. I'd kill for one more mid slot and some more CPU.
Not a Khanid variant unless you're talking T2. That would make sense. I love the Abaddon and I'd fly every variant. Its the best BS in the game in my opinion.

Tier 3 faction BS with EW bonus and some more EHP would be awsomesauce (RP the epitomy of design from faction navies to go on par with piwat BSs). Wrong but awsomesauce all the same.
Ex. Baddon with td's, Rokh with EW, Hyper with long range scram/point, Mael with 25kms web. (Baddon gets the stick end -a- because its awsome as is and -b- because it doesnt have hi's enough for long range neuts).
Tbh I d slap an additional lvl5 requirement or 3 on for good measure but its still sounds too good to be not wrong... |

Armor tanked battleship that uses missiles ... I would actually really really want that .. even thou cramming BCUs and tank in the same lows would be a pain.

And heat sinks/mag stabs/gyrostabs and tank isn't a pain?
Actually it isn't for the most part, since these ships tend to have enough low slots to fit adequate amounts of both. Don't forget shield ships have to share their mid slots between tank and often essential utility modules.
Support showing T2 and faction frequency crystal damage in the info window. |

Some ships get an extra turret or launcher slot (but same number of highs, ex: Navy vexor, Navy Raven)
Then there are navy ships that are completely different (ie, comet, or Navy exequor vs normal exequor)
The cap is always the same, at least for the BS's I sampled, so... basically you want an Abaddon with another flight of light drones, and 50% more tank...
I think navy issues of Tier 3 BS's would start competing with Pirate BS's, they'd have to be priced accordingly... |

I want a Navy Rokh, preferably with a Damage bonus instead of a tanking bonus. Which CCP are likely to do to the standard Rokh anyway in the future.
An extra low/med slot, with huge amount of tank means I can focus on a pure gank fit: 3 x Range mods/rigs + 3 x Tracking Mods/Rigs, 4 x damage mods.
I want it. And I have 1.2million LP for Home Guard, so I know I can afford it. |
