Looking through all the posts on disposible ratting ships, im torn on which is better.
Caracal/Drake/Ferox/Raven
Caracal = cheap, decent dps, fast to avoid camps.....but worried on ability to break the tanks on named faction spawns, and kill fast enough to avoid getting ganked while mid fight.
Drake / Ferox = both reasonably cheap with insurance payback, but slow....drake has more tank, ferox has more dps.
Raven = Not as cheap to loose with insurance, more dps, but slow as hell, easier to get caught in a bubble/camp, and more of a prime target to get probed first.
Remember, must be a disposible setup, mostly t1, with some t2 mixed in. Only Caldari ships as its the only race i fly unless theres a better cruiser out there for my skills that i can get fast.
Have maxed missle skills, decent gun/blaster and drone skills, can fly AF's but not sure if they are viable solution.

I use my HAM Drake for ratting Sanshas. Works like a charm! I get them down in not even a minute using EM rage HAMs.
Note: I have T2 HAM skills but only low missile support skill. So results could be better if I have that skills ^^ And tank isn't a problem in a Drake ofc...

HAM drake works great. Just be sure to pack plenty of missiles, MWD and cloak.

I use a HAM caracal.
With arbalest HAMS and two BSU IIs in the lows, you get over 300DPS with enough skills and more than enough to kill faction spawns.

Arby HAM 4.5 mil give or take (Empire pricing). A touch pricey for a "disposable" ship.
If you drop back to an XT-2800 (Meta 3), it's a much more affordable 850k.

anybody have any fits for a HAM caracal then? should it be speed tanked or shield tanked? Being in 0.0 it has to have cloak and mwd i would think. And would a tracking disruptor be viable vs sansha rats?

Just do a standard drake mission fitout.. only the biggest spawns pose a problem, and take a while to take down. If you have T2 drone skills, they help a lot on the DPS front!

Drake, fit 2 nanos and 2 BCS in the lows. Plenty of passive tank. Fit with lots of cheap tech 1 launchers, insure, and you have a disposable ship that should make it through camps, plenty of tank, and much more gank than the Caracal. I couldn't get a caracal to break the BS tanks with 2-3 BS spawns.
