This happened to me. I was mining in high sec transferring ore from my cargo to a secure can. A player flys up (Back Hoe) and suddenly my ore is missing from the can. Then this cheeky b***ard drops a can of his own labled 'thnx for the cargo'. I did not take the bait and open the can, giving him rights to blow ME up for stealing.
Still, can anyone explain HOW he was able to take from a secure can?

Erm... did you actually secure it with a password, or did you assume that just because it says 'secure can' it's automatically secure?

First thing after anchoring (weeks ago) I set the password. The only thing that makes any sense is that it was unlocked while I was using it and that lets anyone have access. If so, then a secure can is only secure if you're NOT using it. Something sounds wrong about that.

Maybe he's just a bit in-secure. Don't can him for it. -

When you log in, warp to the can and try to open it, do you have to give a password or can you access the cargo immediately?
If you don't have to enter a password, it's not protected and you forgot to set one or you removed it at a certain time.

stealing from GSC is one of the funniest things on EVE jetcan miners "admit" it when someone takes their stuff, but people using GSC go crazy
dumbest thing is using them when in 0.8 system (not possible to anchor) someone warps "0m" (2km) to the GSC flying a mammoth and just scoops it. --> fresh ore and a brand new GSC and lots of rage over local channel!!!

Dunno about the OP, but GSC's just keeps resetting the password for me. They have a dirty word filter on GSC passwords too? -

They guessed your easy password, you didn't anchor the can properly, or you forgot to set a password at all.
And if you say it's none of that you're lying, Or possibly gave them the not-quite-so-easy password for some reason. |

Not lying. The password was ppoqqw(xx),,I doubt he guessed it. It was anchored correctly. I have since changed the password to something else that is not a word. I had been using the can for weeks and I have to enter the password every session to open it. The only thing that seems possiable is that if someone is using a can, someone else can fly up to '0' range of it and then take from it because it has already been 'unlocked' by the owner.
