EvE is the PCP of computer gaming.
We've all had that desire to punch a baby when we lose an expensive ship.

No one could possibly play EVE like they do WoW.
"A Swedish boy of 15 collapsed and went into convulsions after playing it for 24 hours earlier this month." The server is only up for 23 hours a day, we're safe.

Does an hour on the forums waiting for the servers to come back on count towards the total? Should we worry now? :p

I've definitely been prone to over-indulging in EvE before. Some of my not-so-proud moments: - Turning down a date with my wife, cause we had a POS move scheduled that night. - Setting an alarm and waking up at 3am to change a skill. - Spending upwards of $60 a month running multiple accounts on multiple machines ... can mining. - Logging in over a military connection to check skills. - Taking a vacation during an expansion week, just to have uninterrupted time. - Dreaming about EvE and my ships blowing up. - Finding myself talking about ship fittings with my wife at random moments. - Playing drinking games with former corp members over TS while doing mining.
Anything can become an addiction, though, if your not responsible enough to enjoy yourself in moderation.

I do that all the time. Which is not approved by my girlfriend. And makes for short nights sometimes. But I think it is perfectly normal.

We should all thank Blizzard for making WoW. It shields our game and our community from trash journalism like this.

This is THE SUN. It has a reputation of printing the most stupid stories since FOX news.
It even published a story about how to put on a pair of trousers! The paper's journalists are told to write articles aimed at those with a reading age of 6 (this is actually a fact, since a lot of morons in the UK cannot read properly, and the sun focus's itself to the "white van man").
Examples:
1. Rebekah Wade, the Editor has a well known reputation of just telling Journalists to make stories up to fill space. If the Journalists do not make up "scary" stories, then they need to find a news filler or get sacked.
2. When THE SUN was campaigning against Bass Eye, which made fun of the media being hypocrits over stories relating to pedo's, THE SUN was bold in condemming Brass Eye by pretty much calling them pedo's..... Except on the same page, the Sun was printing pictures of 14 year olds showing off their bikini's
3. THE SUN only exists as a printed paper because it prints a Naked lady on page 3. If that was missing, the paper would have been bust by now.
Anyone carrying a copy of THE SUN to their office in any reputable job is just like carrying a "I AM A MORON" sticker around.

Thats an old tradition. The first week of EvE, they ran the servers non-stop. There were only six devs at the time, and in the way of all Scandanavians, they were to the man heavy drinkers.
Every morning, they'd come in, and were all so cranky by noon that nobody could get anything done. Finally that morning, the boss was so p*ssed at the general grumpiness and bitter attitudes, he just walked in and pulled the plug. 'Unscheduled downtime', they called it.
An hour later, after he'd got a smoke and some coffee in him to clear the groggy night-before head, he comes back in and turns the machines back on. Up EvE goes, and there starts the tradition.
Nowadays, the devs walk in all hung-over, pull the plug on the machines, and take a nap in the conference room. Increases productivity and gives them that little bit of rest.
Of course, this is entirely made up.

If EVE were a drug, it'd be mescaline mixed with meth. With a tequila chaser.

Oh my god man I thought I was the only one! I thought I was all alone!
I had a similar problem trying to kick dihydrous monoxide. Finally made it when I switched to beer.
