Has this ever happened? When your podded without a clone you go back to starting skill points right? Has anyone who has played for a while and has like 10+ mil SP every lost them all?
Ever heard of any stories like this? Because that sure would be sh!tty!! |

I think you lose like 5% of your uncovered skillpoints out of your highest-SP skill. -------------------------------------------- CONCORD: Kneecapping Pilots for Misdemeanors Since 2003 |

Ooooh right, so you only lose a bit of skill points from your best skill..? I always thought you lost it all! That really takes the fear of being podded without a clone.....
Although losing it all is a bit steep

5% of your skillpoints, if you have 15m SP, and are podded with a basic clone, is 750k SP. -------------------------------------------- CONCORD: Kneecapping Pilots for Misdemeanors Since 2003 |

But what if you don't have a clone at all. Or do you have a basic clone by default?

I was podded on an alt by sentry guns once, when I only had a basic clone. You lose a few SP from your highest trained skill, I'm not sure what the threshold is.
In my case, I lost about a day of training from Missile Launcher Operations V.

yup 5% of the uncovered skillpoints.. so if you have 10mil sp and your clone covers five, youd lose 5% of 5mil. and you always have a basic clone, so theres no way to die and not have a clone. that would be bad business anyway.. i'd just quit if i had to start training everything again

I remember a few times in CFS space we podded a few guys, then had a gank squad at the clone lab. Watching them beg for their lives to be spared made me warm and fuzzy.

I've been podded out in Syndicate twice.. i spend allot of time in Solitude region, and although I avoid PvP as much as i can sometimes its simply unavoidable.

Aye, i've had that happen to me. lost 150k skillpoints from a 3.2mil SP clone when i was kinda drunk and decided I wanted to be half way across the galaxy for some reason. Problem was I'd just done that that afternoon and forgot to fly to the cloning station to renew my contract.
*laughs*
Anyone, it works out to the requisite 5% loss.

So all this time I used to have the fear of losing shed loads of Sp's all you lose is a crappy 5% from your top skill. Man how much is that BullShlt, so why bother having a decent clone.
This game is so built for pu55ies it unbelievable, is there nothing in the game that can really strip a player of his power.
Isk is abundent, mods come easy, ships are cheap, death can be reversed and now even death without a clone will not strip you of anything harsh!!!
Oh well I guess next step is to give us all a furry suit and paint our ships with lovely flower paterns.

Er, no. Its 5% of your total uncovered points taken from your top skill. So you could in theory lose 15-20% of that one skill if your overall total was high enough.

I heard of one guy that lost his entire Spaceship Command skill after getting podded, he did not have enough to get the skill at his clone station, not only that, but he could not even pilot the noob ship to head to the next station in system (where he could afford the skill) to pick it up...
So you should be carefull if you do not have a clone, and the skill you loose SP's on is spaceship command...

Yep, 5% of TOTAL skill points from the top skill.
SP: 3.2mil clone: basic Lost: 150k from a 525k skill
= ~5% of 3.2mil
Currently training to replace the lost points.
