I was thinking a Damnation would make a great addition to a wormhole raiding party but then there's that whole thing about too large of a ship collapsing the wormhole. Would battlecruiser hulls be too big?

No, you'll be able to get battlecruiser hulls down most/all of the wormholes, I would imagine.

If you look at the actual masses of cruisers versus battle cruisers you'll find they aren't as far apart as you fear.

I remember from somewhere that wormholes have total mass limit and every ship that goes through reduces that value until the final ship that reduces that under a zero collapses it.
So you can go through in 100 frigates or in 10 battleships (for example)

Actually . . . what they've said is that a cruiser-sized ship will always be able to fit through a WH, and that if the WH had less mass remaining than the cruiser it would collapse. So a BS would fail to pass through a WH with too little mass for it.
What's more questionable is if a BC is in the "cruiser" class mass limit they have or if it's over the limit. If the limit is strictly cruiser sized then a BC won't make it.
Did that make sense?

Maybe the "last slot" in the wormhole is always cruiser sized. But before that you could fit bigger ships through. I really doubt it that they would make the wormholes offlimit to BS or even bigger ships...

Wormholes do not care what 'class' your ship is. Everything is strictly based upon the mass of the ship. All wormholes have an upper mass 'limit' that prevents ships that are too massive from passing through. Some wormholes will not allow battleships. Some will not allow capital ships.

This is like a stealth buff to Minmatar, our ships being, on average, lighter than others :)

caldari should have least mass since theyr bs are so tiny in comparison. usually other ships are like 2-3times bigger than my raven when i undock same time as some other bs

They are just built like that, well made I suppose, and of high grade materials.
Minmatar ships are just scrapmetal, some duckttape and gum, In fact they are probably made of a lot less materials than Caldari ships. Where else does the "rattling sound" come from?
Caldari Ships = Heavy Prime Minister Cars Minmatar Ships = Engines with a little carbon fiber wrapped around them. "Ruppie ain't no puppie." |

So... how exactly are you going to retrieve ore from the systems?
If everytime you try and haul these dense cargos the wormhole collapses, leaving you with a large "aw shi..." echo in space.

I'm pretty sure that only the mass of your ship is taken into account - the mass of your cargo, or the ships in your ship maintenance bay, are ignored.
