Looking at random modules I could'nt help to notice this silly thing the only "quad" turret module on the game. What exactly is it for? It's got lower fitting cost than FMPs, but also lower damage, tracking and range. It's totally useless with t2 crystals compared to FMP and also fails with regular crystals.
I don't think there's any ships with problems fitting FMPs, what the hell are these things for?

Well, there's also the Quad 3500mm Siege Artillery I. However, I've no experience fitting Amarr, so I'll leave the proper question to others :)

Your right their is no point using a Quad Light Beam Laser if you can fit a Focused Medium Pulse Laser.
The only other upside to a Quad is that it has lower cap usage. However, if you can spare the PG and cap, then go for the Pulse laser.

Well since Quads are beams, they get a 15% RoF bonus as opposed to a 15% damage bonus when overloaded. This means that the get a bigger dps kick from being overloaded than FMP, but will probably burn out more quickly as well. This also means that you can get their RoF under once per second on a NOmen, which has to be very entertaining. But truth be told, FMP are superior and Quads could really use a tracking boost to make them more relevant.

Well they have less fitting reqs than FMP:s and on ships that have gimped PG (read: Omen) they can be fitted.
Like this:
Lows: 1 x DCU T2 1 x 800 mm reinforced nanofiber plate 1 x Adaptive Nano plating t2 2 x Heat sink T2
Meds: 1 x Y-T8 MWD 1 x X5 Stasis Web 1 x Faint warp Disruptor
Highs: 5 x Quad Beam Lasers T2 w/ Amarr Navy Multifreq and Amarr Navy Radio crystals
Drones: 3 x Hobgoblin II's
Gets around 390 dps @ 6 km optimal w/ amarr navy multifreqs making the ship still a bit meh. But hey atleast it has no reload time :)

they are utterly worthless, even on the omen, think they are just in game for the lulz tbh, you would be better off putting unbonused 200mm autocannons on a ship than quad light beams

I've actually got a few Omen setups that use the Quad's quite effectively. Plus there is something about near 1 second rate of fire that just makes me giggle. ---

True, it¦s like 150mm dual Rails, using a DPS Bonus with wasting 3 times the tracking advantage of a small gun an his fitting advantage. Basicly if you can¦t fit FMPs get Medium Puls and be done with it. ---- Nerf Tank - Boost Gank!

you're still better off fitting focused medium pulse, more range, more tracking, more damage and can use scorch. Before the tracking boost on pulse the quad lights were actually pretty decent, they had the best tracking of all lasers and could pack a nasty punch on an omen against smaller ships. -- stuff -- |
