I've been ratting in a Tengu for a while in Serpentis Space to get money for pvp, which works fine ofcourse. A friend of mine started to train for a Loki for different purposes and now he wants to rat in it. I don't have any experience with the Loki other than I know it can web the **** out of you. But when it comes to pure dps and tank the Tengu is better, which is what is needed for ratting.
So I was wondering if anyone can give some advise on how to fit a Loki for ratting (havens and sanctums mostly)? It could be for solo ratting or for ratting together. Maybe it's not the best ship for the purpose, but he has started training for it, so I'm afraid I had to ask :-)

It won't do as well as a Tengu, but it should do just fine. There is a LOT of variance in the fits you could use though. Does your friend prefer to armor or shield tank (the Loki can do either one just fine)? I'll try to EFT up something quick when I get home in a bit. |

Thanks! I don't think if matters if it's armor or shield tanked per se, but since he needs dps and rep/booster for tanking I would go for shield tanking so there's room for a couple of gyros. When is armor tanking a Loki viable for ratting? When fitting it with webs?
I've tried different variantions in EFT. Maybe something with a Pithum C-type Medium Shield Booster or something similar? |

82k EHP, 441 DPS tank
184m sig, 752m/s
503 DPS
With a DED shield booster you can get anywhere from 520 to 970 DPS tank, depending on how much your friend feels like dropping on it. But a T2 shield booster should be fine with tanking most stuff I would think.
It's not the best fit ever, anyone else feel free to toss something better out, but it's atleast a decent fit that should work. |

Drake would do better then loki with 0 to no effort due to kin bonus, not to mention the price tag difference.
Caldari ships are THE PvE ships in kin weak space.

Still, as someone already said, Loki in Serpentis space is crap.
Not because of dmg (Phased Plasma works well enough) but because the resist profile isn't really geared for Serpentis
