Edited by: Takeshi Yamato on 06/03/2009 14:18:49 I've encountered two phantom sites on different occasions. Nothing is in them. It looks just like an empty point in space. Either the warpable result can be off sometimes or some sites aren't spawned correctly. Playing around with the probes and rearranging them doesn't change the outcome.
The last one was called Ransacked Guristas Ship Remnants.
Anyone has got some insight into this?

I had that problem last night i got a wormhole sig tracked it and got a the option to warp to 0 and i kept warping to empty space i rescanned and got a different distance and warped to empty space again i repited this about 10 times and finally i warped within 230km of the wormhole i then bookmarked it and warped to it.
I dont know if this is a bug or if it has to do with deviation but it is possible to find these sites just rescan and warp until you get there you don't need to move the probes.

Yes its a bug. Its caused by deviation even when you have 100% strength. I've shown in a bug report that it can also be used to create ultra deep safe spots. And it has been attached to a defect which means they consider it a bug and plan to fix it. Hopefully before the 10th.
Workaround for now is basicly to (1) lower the range of the probes if possible, (2) bring them closer to the target and (3) surround the target more evenly with the probes. If all that fails just keep trying until you're lucky: deviation is random. Also try to avoid deep safe probes when going for the warpable result because they cause more deviation (unless you are sure you got much higher than 100% strength)
