Has anyone else adopted this nomenclature?
WH: Worm Hole; the connection you jump through.
WS: Wormhole System; where you can end up when you go through a WH. http://vincentoneve.wordpress.com/ |

That seems almost overly complicated.
Just be all like, Home > Static > c(class number)a, etc.
Much easier. |

Depends on how correct you want to be... Think most have given up and just accepted that people say they "live in a wormhole", which makes no sense at all.
I could go with "WS" for a system in unknown space, even if it would be an abbreviation of another, just as nonsensical thing. What's a "wormhole space system"? A system thats connected to others with WHs? Like Tama?
Now, if you mean "a system with at least one static WH"... |

I try to use wormhole (WH) for the wobbly coloured thing you jump through and hope not to find bubble-gang on other side of; w-system for a solar system that can only be accessed via said WH; and w-space for the generic collection of w-systems.
Despite my attempts at fastidious correctness I recognise that the vast majority of ppl use WH to mean the wobbly-hole-thing as well as the solar system. I can live with that I think :-) We can build and sell pretty much every ship. Check my bio for details. Its just we had too many conversations like
"I found a WH" "Where does it go?" "There is a POS in it"
Huh?
If I do not know what is actually being talked about, its hard to ask a meaningful question. Sure eventually it gets straightened out, and context helps in almost all situations, but it helps to be clear on what you are talking about. Another example: is the answer to the question "Whats the WH?" a Cn, or a xnnn? http://vincentoneve.wordpress.com/ |
