Hi
I found a wormhole today that leads to W-Space. I probed out some anomalies and found that those i found are not soloable (which is fine). I just wanted to know if there is a way to determine the dificulty of a W-System.
The info on the wormhole said "This wormhole seems to lead into dangerous unknown parts of space." Did someone find a wormhole with a different description that lead to w-space?

W-space isnt supposed to be soloed
0.0 has the majority of "hard" (read impossible) w-space and hisec has the more vanilla content.
Of course there are exceptions to this, so the only real way to find out is to see if you come back alive. Though, in hindsight; I really should put in some sort of spacer between my post and signature |

The wormholes that don't leave to "Dangerous Unknown space" are mildly solo-able. That being said, I wouldn't go into a wormhole without one person in a covops.

As far as we can tell. Unknown > Dangerous Unknown > Deadly Unknown.

W space can be soloed but your have to know yourself pertty good to know what you can consider 'soloable' similar to how you wouldnt pick a fight with a pvp world, 2 battleships with support vs 1 battleship? not going to happen as easily. =============

It's possible, and no there is no way to know just by looking. Gota go in and test the waters.
Only ship I succesfully soloed a W=space Anomy was in a Assault type T3 ship build.

Some of us like to play solo, or just plain beat sumat that supposedly cant be done, if you feel the need to hide behind your gangmates, all the power to ya.
Try not to force your timidness on others though eh ?

Edited by: Great Artista on 07/03/2009 19:20:16 I'v soloed one of the easier anomalies in Muninn. It takes alot of time, warp outs and tactical bookmarks, but it's do-able. 'Do-able' however doesn't mean much though, the time it takes to run a site that way can only barely justify the rewards.
(the WH was found at low-sec) _______

Edit, in answer to the op, try scanning round high sec or .4s you should find one of the lower end ones, best way to be sure though is check out the anomalies with a covert ops or a fast ship, then if it looks too much you can duck back thru the wh if its still open
Jon.
MMORPG...guess what that bolded "M" stands for!
Anyway, back to the OP, generally high sec leads to "easier" w-space than low-sec or 0.0 HOWEVER there is still a tiny chance of them leading to the far more challenging w-space that you would find if you tried to access w-space via 0.0

So far I have seen 3 different difficulty classes in w-space.
Perimeter, Frontier, and Core. If you do a quick scan for anomalies one of these three names should be in the title of the anomalies present. Perimeter being the easier and Core the more difficult. I could have perimeter and frontier reversed, but not certain.

Hard = warp to anom and blow up before you load the grid. (hay, it's just like 0.0 PvP!!!)
Medium = Warp to anom and see that your out manned, out gunned and you try to warp out but you can't because your scrammed so you flail your arms about yelling like a crazy person as your pimped out PvE/scanner BS goes boom in 30 or less. (Hay!! Just like low sec PvP.)
Easy = Warp to Anom, kill rats. loot rats. Salvage Rats. Warp back to wormhole to get back to K-space and gett wacked by a pirate, lose all your stuff, get smack talked and sit there in your pod while they stick an alt with a web on you so you can't move and make it to the WH to get out so you ether sit there till DT or have to pod yourself to get back to K-space. (Welcome to Apocrypha!!!)

Well being "Multiplayer" normally means needing more than one player to enjoy the content fully which is correct so co-op would be better, now while you might choose to not play with others you'll find that not many MMO's will cater for the solo player as thats not the intended market, there is nothing to stop you attempting to do this content solo but you'll find it easier with a a few of those other players playing this multiplayer game :) --------- Liberty Rogues Site[/center]

Kind of off-topic, but I dissagree. One of the cool things about a high-pop, large world server like EVE is that if you do feel like soloing you are given a serious sense of being one little dude in a big big world that's very alive just by virtue of the amount of traffic you see. There is no reason to force anyone to gang up.
And so far, my one and only experience in a WH, while it was with another person, was actually quite solo-able. It was a radar site in a WH found in 0.0 space, and it was basically a bunch of spawns of 4-8 cruisers with a couple of frigs, and one BS thrown in there somewhere. I could have done it with a Sleip or *probably* a t1 BS, and it would have been super easy with a Maurader. Of course, that doesn't mean I could have dealt with the other 15 or so signatures on the scanner. :P
