sigh...32 yrs of age and actually looking forward to this movie. My wife thinks I'm nuts. Got my tix for tomorrow afternoon show :)

I think it'll suck unfortunately. Still gonna see it, and still hope its completely awesome. Definately excited, but hard to get your hopes up for something with so many chances to be a letdown.

I think that its a shame that Paul Anderson was able to shape the lifespan of the alien. In the past legendary directors got their say in how the alien lived and died and this seems to take away from that a little. Never the less I liked Resident Evil and even Mortal Kombat so I will defo go see this one but not on opening week just so the numbers look worse because I've heard that if it does well Alien 5 will be on the way and who really wants that, just let it go into movie history.
Puts all $ down on Alien, if Danny Glover can kill a Preditor then they definately suck.

I'll def be going to see that one, and since some of you lot voted the original Alien vs Predator game as the scariest Im warming up with that.

In my opinion, The smartest thing 20th century fox could have done was to go after and try to get, and I mean really, really try, the only two directors that could do these kind of movies justice, that being either Ridley Scott or James Cameron. That said, I'm not casting any negative reflections on this movie until I have seen it, as I might be surprised. lol, who knows, I did like anderson's work with the resident evil movie as well as event horizon.

I think it may be a good let your brain think of something other than eve event, but not a great film. The whole people tunneling into the arctic to find a temple with 2 kinds of aliens fighting, and of course i'm assuming all but 1 or 2 of the people die of course. Although I am going to see it, I don't feel confident that it will be a success. I have seen the trailers and the look good, but they (Hollywood) more often than not show the best parts in the trailers.

My brother went to see it last night at midnight, and the verdict is: It's a fun movie IF you do not expect plot or good acting. The fighting between the two coolest sci-fi monsters of all time is supposed to be quite pimpy. I'm going to see it after I get off work. Honestly, this report is exactly what I expected. Don't expect Shakespear and you'll have a good time. Kinda like any Arnold movie. I will governate you!

The same thing I thought of when I read about the movie. The only legacy they will have with Alien lore is Bishop, who in the movie will be the human who starts the company that later on builds androids (in Alien).
However, he must have suffered amnesia in AvP, since in Alien age nobody knows about Aliens. If I survived aliens and created a corporation later on, I'd put it in every god damn circuit: "... must ... kill ... aliens"

Not true.. Ridley Scott filmed footage (which was cut) that made it very clear that Weyland-Yutani created the alien lifeform. Unfortunately, no explanation was given as to how/why the "Space Jockey's" ship was infested with alien eggs.

I'd like to see earth VS a few predators and an alien infestation.

I went into the movie expecting very little in the way of a plot and I wasen't disappointed. The Alien/Predator fight scenes ruled, and it was all the poor humans could do to stay out of the way...

The movie was good up till the pred made that stupid ***** some weapons... WTF.
Pred and her running down the hall like some dynamic duo.... what bull****. Then once they get out of the the place and are standing of the edge of the crater, maybe it was jsut me, but were they about to get thier nasty on with each other?
They should have killed the stupid women and let the pred go to town on the rest of the aleins.

Apparently they saw that many younger people played the Alien vrs. Predator games and so they made this movie with that age group in mind so that it would appeal to them more.
I still think that more humans should die, alien dismemberment and stuff ain't scary, but seeing a human torn apart by an alien while he screams for dear life, theres just something about it.

Please tell me youre kidding, i didnt know about this i just assumed it was 18, jjeeezzz its like that crap robocop 3 "lets make it a pg we will ruin the franchise but look at the cash the kiddies will bring us" now ive heard its a PG it might have to go in the worse film list and i havent even seen it
I know, hell, Robocop was almost NC-17 because of a 5 second scene where Murphy's arm was being shot off!
For a movie like AvP, there better be a scene where a Xenomorph and a Predator are playing tug-of-war with a human body and it rips to pieces!

Just saw the movie, and it sucked, imho:
1.) humans talk too much
2.) human characters are not interesting, Ripley kicked ass
3.) Aliens are not scary enough, all the "scary" shots were already done in some other movie. This is just a better graphics, thats all.
4.) Predators are not cool enough. I mean the movie is supposed to be about aliens and predators, not the never ending shots of that stuttering guy from Pearl Harbor.
5.) Predator never talked to the chick, remember that they could mimic human speech.
6.) The movie didn't have "it"

Yes.. alien vs predator.. from the perspective of the humans. yay.
I thought the movie had some cool parts, but for the majority it was a waste of 7 bucks.
Could have been better had they not made the plot in 2004, had some consistancy with the books/comics, not tried to stick with a pg-13 rating, and if they would have incorporated more about the aliens/predators.
I mean.. they didn't even mention any of the pred's names... The preds didn't even talk man. They just growled. ooooh ahhh oooooh scareh!
*sighs* What a crap movie. Leave it to the entertainment industry to ruin a decent story. Whoever wrote the script and whoever had the bright idea to give it the go-ahead should be beat with an artifical leg.

Andersen is probably the single least imaginative and useless director ever to have lived (event horizon was probably the worst sci-fi movie i've ever seen, and resident evil was so dull i couldnt even be bothered to watch the last half hour)
