Edited by: Emmum on 08/03/2009 02:00:04 I was just wondering whether EBank has some sort of backup fund in case something happened to Dynasty Bank, because I heard something to that effect(somewhere.) Failing that, do we simply trust in the bank and invest? Or decide not to? Meaning, is there any sort of security or have audits ever been performed?

First, I'm not personally worried about DBANK. Yes, there are some questions floating right now but Shar's involvement should put those questions to rest for a bit. They have some areas they can improve on, but that shouldn't be taken as "blood in the water".
All investments and Banks are based on trust and confidence, I'd have to say that's a universal truth in finance. Is DBANK perfect? Probably not, but they are one of the single largest financial entities in the history of the game and I think they do pretty well.
Shar can speak to the specific security and the audit items, but for everyone looking for a Bank or investment...you have to make your own call on what you feel comfortable with. Investing is a highly personal decision.

Why would Ebank need a backup fund if something happen to Dbank? I don't think Ebank is guarantying Dbank against failure. I think at one point in the past Ridic mention that Ebank would help out Dbank if they needed it, but I am not so sure that offer is still violable.

Our offer was in a range of forms. Initially it was to provide financial assistance if a run on the bank was caused as a result of the Xabier scam however this wasn't required. Other forms of assistance were in the form of information and assistance in duties (ie loaning one of our tellers until they got their own guys sorted out).
Only invest based on DBANK's merits, don't assume EBANK will bail you out if something happens with DBANK because we won't. Our offer was related specifically to that Xabier issue. I'm not saying not to invest in DBANK, just to make your own decisions without EBANK in the picture. |

No, EBANK does not and most likely never will 'insure' against a failure on DBANK or any other future institutions. EBANK has in the past extended offering to help DBANK through potentially rough patches.
Currently Shar is on board doing audits. He has a year to catch up on so I do not see him getting a 100% audit completed very soon.
Also, DBANK will be releasing the January and February numbers in our annual report later this month. The January numbers have been delayed due to a priority shift towards restructuring and risk management after the Xabier incident.

There we go, was that so damn hard?

I hope he is a great trader, because he needs to make 20-35B ISK per month to pay interest at DBank

I dunno, perhaps yes? The sad reality is that too many people see activity on EO as basis for perception. Someone not active here, they are not on the ball. They could even have someone who is supposed to be handling the forums but if you don't hear from one specific person, a few around here don't bother reading what has already been posted. In essence, Man only posted what I've been telling you. Not because it's a crafted prepared statement but because it is the basic truth. So I guess the answer to your (unhelpful) question, AC155, is, "Yes, apparently it is very hard for some of you to accept information that has been given to you."

My issue wasn't that I didn't trust what you had to say or believe what you had to say. My problem was that I never saw anyone give you permission to say it (and I'm sorry but Salpad has never really said anything worth reading anyways, especially since he isn't a "money guy"). I don't doubt that it happened because you are who you say you are, and always have been. If you came on saying you had gone back to work for ebank and no one came to deny it I would believe you, but I would still expect the head guy to confirm it.
And the point you make about activity on EO being a basis for perception is 100% correct and actually makes my point. It doesn't matter if he is busy in-game dealing with ****, MD expects people to be active on these forums, atleast to come on and make a post every few days. There's no reason he couldn't take 30 seconds to log in and say "Shar is my voice on here, I'm keeping the bank running, all is well."
I don't really feel it was unhelpful, rhetorical yes but not unhelpful.
Edit: And if I missed his post stating the above then I apologize but I have not yet seen it.

Agree with 155. Need somone from DBANK that actually cares about DBANK to say hey this is whats going on and why, Shar is not doing the job, if anything making it worse.

What DBank needs is to put someone with the neccesary skills in charge to deal with their customers. And make it oficial, so everybody here knows that he is the public relations dealer, and give them info on the status of the bank. Because customers need love. EVE Knowledge |

I think I liked it when you posted from your Ricdic toon. However this is more like the comparison between having someone use a hammer to pound a nail into your head and using a nail gun. The only difference is technique, either way same ass.

Perception is a factor that contributes directly to face, and because face is directly correlated to trust, this is critical to a bank.

I am Ricdic. Infact you should all start sending this toon isk rather than EBANK Ricdic.
Now that it's out can we get an actual DBANK update from somone that tries to seem as if they care for it's customers atleast.

Edited by: Ricdic on 09/03/2009 12:20:11 I have never used an alt to cover up my mains. It might indicate why my characters are: Ricdic, Ricdics, Ricdic's Hoe, EBANK Ricdic, Bouncer Ricdic and the Ricdic COPY1 (through to) Ricdic COPY6 characters. My only other alts are Yoko Kringe and Jess Kha (both purchased), the researching toons Researching King and Researching Duchess, the project toons, T2 Alpha (through to) T2 Foxtrot, and MC Alpha (through to) MC Foxtrot. I also have Ammo Girl and a new toon I recently bought that I can't for the life of me remember her name (jump freighter pilot).
To put this rubbish about alts to rest I would be happy for the following to happen:
1) I wager Shar Tegral 5 billion isk that not a single one of the alts or characters who have posted without a Ricdic tag are mine.
2) In order to prove this to have some way to test IP addresses (ie have the other people log into their EBANK accounts at the same time and have someone neutral like LaVista Vista or anyone of your choosing check and compare the IP addresses.
Frankly Shar you can either put your money where your mouth is or go screw yourself. |

You have always said I was your alt, and now you reject me. I am so hurt
Addition - I think I once tried to bet somone here with my main, they rejected it. Such a shame as I would have won a nice chunk of isk. -----
