Sorry, need to vent.
My corp mines in high sec, wants to start doing some low sec mining and hauling back. i offer my jump freighter that i spent all those long hours training for. nope. they would rather do it the old fashioned way and risk gate camps and such because " .. oh jump freighters dont hold as much, use too much expensive fuel, etc."
anyone else get this reaction with their jumpers? hell, i have a cyno alt to scout ahead and open stuff up. but nope. lets risk everything instead.
all the excitement i get out of using it, and they just dont get it. what a waste.

This is just full of fail in all ways possible.
Also why would anyone go to low-sec to mine?

Losing a normal freighter doesn't hurt as much. With proper scouting there isn't much risk to losing a freighter.
You must be using normal haulers to get mins from the belts to a pos or station. So a jf doesn't help here.
A jf is fairly specialized. It holds 1/3 the amount which means more jumps. You still have to get the mins into empire. Best method is still probably a freighter here.
Don't train for something unless you know the role.

Try hauling something that's actually expensive - ie not generic ore.
Also lrn2use a rorqual.

First, why are you mining in lowsec. Seriously, that's just stupid with current market prices.
Second, if they do want to mine in lowsec, normal freighters cost a quarter of the price, and hold three times as much. As long as the scouts are smarter than these miners of yours, they should be fine.
Third, you should be using a rorqual to transfer ore.

few gates are camped, fewer has a prober, lots of freighter pilots experience connection problems right after jumping into a camped gate.
