The only reason people argue that falcons can't kill anything solo is because they sit off at long range, well out of harms way so they can perform the role of ECM, the most powerful form of electronic warfare in the game and do nothing else, because while they can fit missile launchers and go kill stuff (slowly) they would much rather bring another ship for the job.
Just because the ship is most effective when sitting at long range jamming targets doesn't mean that you can't kill stuff with it, it's just not optimal:

Replace jammers with your flavor, can't do much beyond kill the random cruiser without a web, but then again I've never seen a rapier, arazu, or pilgrim kill a battlecruiser sized ship or above solo. The pilgrim could potentially pull it off, but you are committed in a pilgrim once you uncloak, where the rest of the ships have the potential to run away.
Just because a ship is ineffective at one role doesn't mean it can't perform in it.

We get it, the Falcon is the best Recon. Someone has to be the best. Deal with as CCP will NEVER nerf the Falcon. Have you ever seen one blog/interview/post where they EVER said the Falcon was overpowered? Nope. Some ship will always be the best. Stop whining and get one yourself if you think it is so great.

ecm is fine, 54km optimal (racial best named / t2)
the caldari optimal bonus isnt - unless we're talking scorpion
mid-eccm is fine, maybe a lil less heat dmg
low-eccm isnt - boost to 60..72%
and/or lift the stacking penalty on those. it's not like CCP cares about unprobable ships anyway.

I think we should change the topic of this thread...to the discussion of, how probable is it that tropic89 is a falcon alt? (and how probable is it that he'll flame me for calling him out?) My current analysis says - very likely. Let's take a look.

I wonder how many people posting in this forum have flown falcons themselves especially those complaining that ECCM is not effective enough. I have extremely close to perfect skills for flying a falcon and i can tell you without seeing a KM who has ECCM running and who doesn't.
Can i get a jam in on you if you have ECCM running?...ABSOLUTELY...however, keep in mind that i have nearly a full rack of ECM to throw at you and when dealing with few targets a failed jam will result in greater ECM committment to jam that target. Also bear in mind that my ship has about the same tanking ability as wafer built out of farts. ECM is my offense and defense. So in even a mid sized gang fitting ECCM all it takes is one dps ship to get within firing range while unjammed and my 5k or so effective HP will not hold up long and i will either have to get out or get remote tanking support. If you are short range or low sensor strength you're probably boned...too bad, facts of life and whatnot.
Chances are my writing this is pointless even if you read it I assume the chance that you will actually fit ECCM if you don't already is virtually nil. Coincidentally this is the same reason why I don't mind so much telling you all how to make my life hard.
As for a solo falcon...NO...full stop.
If you are looking for a secondary role fit a scan probe launcher in with your very lonely cloak and give your gang a way to find those attempting to hide from you.
Finally training my skills up to the level they are took a VERY large committment timewise and I feel i deserve the payoff.
The designers at CCP included modules in the game that will greatly reduce the effectiveness of falcons, the fact that most people choose not to use them does not warrant a nerf of the ship that is annoying you due to the fact that your precious fit may have to change a little.
Now flame amd whine away if it makes you feel better...you're mind and falcon hatred is not powerful enough to alter the fabric of reality so you get what you want and always remember that you should take your jams as a compliment it means you were a threat.
