From a general point of view which would be a better specialization from a small gang, guerilla point of view? as in invading enemy space/empire wardecs and traveling gangs.
Minnie gives nice ships like the vaga, cane and stabber and stiletto however amarr brings the curse, zealot.
So basically it comes down to whether its worth it to go for amarr for the better BC/recons or for minnie for the better cruiser platforms etc.
Keep in mind i lack shield & missile skills however.

Edited by: Renarla on 10/03/2009 00:04:48 I'd personally go Minmatar, gives you a wider range of decent ships and Minnie T1 ships are the best in their class. Amarr need their expensive T2 hulls to really shine in sub-BC sized ships.

Gonna bump as my mind has slightly changed after finding out the stabber is pretty useless nowadays along with speed tanking.

Edited by: Kyvon on 11/03/2009 07:41:27 amarr. +no ammo. +'religous reclaimers' have 3 charisma (as good as achura, why dont people notice this). -bad cap usage +awesome tank (every class has a +5% resists per level ship) +/- (i dunno) pulse lasers have freaky long ranges. so much so i hardly use beams. -because of those long ranges, crappy tracking...unless they get close and you can web them...

Either is fine really. -Amarr hits harder and tanks harder -Minmatar will give you more control over the fight
Both are suitable for roaming but it will be easier with Minmatar as you can get out of trouble more often.

Edited by: Gedid Tava on 11/03/2009 22:23:05 My fite experience is fairly limited (hey, I like mining ok?) but I've dabbled with both Amarr and Min. I spent the first bulk of the time as Amarr. I loved the damage, firing range (both control and amazing optimal), and tank. I could give hits reliably and take them just as well.
That being said, I'm having more fun with Min. I like the design of the ships, sound of the guns (both ac and arty) and the raw speed. Amarr is great on paper but I couldn't ever stop wondering if I should get out and push.
Feel > Numbers any day.
edit: Also, as should be obvious from my Bergbaufreude, I've got tons of patience so the split skill training time issue doesn't bother me as much as it might you.

Minmatar ships are pretty interesting. Some of them shield tank, some of them armor tank, some use guns primarily, some use missiles (almost all of them are a semi-hybrid). The Typhoon battleship uses both missiles and guns evenly. It's also a drone boat - have fun getting all the SP's to fly that baby. They're the fastest ships in the game, and also have the smallest signature radius. They're also the most versatile.
I love the Rifter and I can't wait to fly the Stiletto interceptor.
