OK ... I downloaded and installed evepremiumpatch75883-84244_m.exe, and I thought all went well. But when I tried to run the game, I was told that a NEW version existed, evepremiumpatch83913-84244.exe. Attempting to execute this via the autopatcher yielded "Failed to initialize, error code 3" message.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE update the "Patching FAQ" thread with the current instructions that actually work, without asking to read through 20+ pages of messages.

<sigh>
When the instructions say to download and install the manual patch, and the patched version tries to download ANOTHER patch WHICH DOESN'T F***KING WORK, I need a little more than a news article telling me that it may take multiple patches.
What I NEED (and absolutely despair of getting) is a customer support organization that understands that the process is broken for some of us, is trying to fix the problem, and who can be bothered to actually keep the paying customers informed about progress.
What I DON'T need is happy little posts like yours that pretend to be responsive, while completely ignoring the issues I'm raising.

I'm running Windows XP SP3 (32-bit). But the point of this thread isn't about my specific problem (although I thank you for asking), it's a plea for CCP people to keep all of us who are having problems updated as solutions are found, by updating the "Patching FAQ" thread instead of the 25+ page monster.

Because they said, from the start, that there would be 1 BIG patch to download, and then when TQ Went live there would be another, smaller patch to download.

Here is the page that your link led me to:
"As we launch EVE Online: Apocrypha there is quite a bit to download and to get that done as smoothly as possible we will have two patches to get the full expansion. The first patch will be made available at approximately 09:30 GMT on 10 March via the auto-patching system, and itĘs a big one at about 1.35 GB. The Mac client will have one patch as it didnĘt have premium content, this patch will be 2.17 GB. Once Tranquility opens we will have a second, much smaller, patch which will give your client the final version and get you ready to find those wormholes!"
Can you please point out exactly where it tells me anything useful to do when the autopatcher doesn't work?

Basicly, the server is on a differant version because the devs are making last minute tweaks. Once they finish, it will be that patch they talk about. the server is already on a differant version then what you have, but they dont have a patch for it. Wha? |
