So the expansion patch "Apocrypha" finaly goes online. Woohoo? Or just another sad day for us Mac users?
I have tried the autoupdater, but the file was corrupt. I have tried the manual download, but the file was corrupt. I have tried to download the new client, but the file was corrupt.
I have tried using a download manager for both the new client and the patch, and both files were. Corrupt.
Has anyone got the new patch working on the Tranquility server? If so IŠd be glad if you write a guide, for I cant for the love of god get this to work.
It realy shouldnt be this way, we Mac users need some love. We are paying for playing this game, and then there are new bugs and errors in every mac client, its not acceptable.
If you got the same problems as me, atleast make some noise in here to let them know that something is wrong.

Edited by: Sola Veritas on 10/03/2009 17:56:50 I'm on TQ, everything is working fine.
Autopatcher on my usual client was a no-go. So I downloaded a fresh client install from the links provided in the temp Apocrypha forums when downtime was in effect.
The link was: http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/mac/eve-premium_002289_84063_mac.dmg
I do not know if it still works or if it has been changed. EDIT: tried it just now, and as of this writing, the file is still there.
After that fresh download, the Autopatcher downloaded the 38MB patch, rebooted, and I was able to log in. I've since warped around, played with the graphics settings, etc. I only got one exception error, but I think this was due to memory, as I had the graphics all set to High and had a number of programs running alongside, including Photoshop.
I was actually about to make a "thank you CCP!" thread. Hope this info helps some of your problems.
EDITx2: My Machine is MBP, 2.16 Intel Core Duo, 2GB 667 MHz, etc., etc.

There is a patch which will update the Quantum Rise client to the Apocrypha client. We're currently looking into the download issues, and I apologise for any inconvenience caused. As soon as we know what's going on I'll update this thread, but there's a lot of people doing a lot of stuff at the moment so there may be one or two lengthy periods of silence.

Just tried out that link, but on start up i get 'incompatible client', and autopatch doesn't work, otherwise nothing new, official download links still point to QR version.

so let's start the beta test...
where's the link to the bug reports? can't find anything in the new website menu and the website search send me to http://www.eveonline.com/bugreporting.asp which end in a 404.
damn you really need to tone down the POS shield effects. so hectic and when you're moving inside or just move the camera fps goes berserk.
dropped to 0.8 fps at one point. when zooming out it jumped to 250 fps for second then stabilized at 20-35 fps.
damn i need to finish what i have to do at the pos. drives me nuts

The new version works fine on my iMac alu, 2,4 Ghz (first Alu generation).
Only with the graphix settings i getting a bit trouble. If i changing the shader and texture settings, the game crashes.
And a bit OT... My perfect setup for good graphics and smooth gameplay: http://media.com-2-mac.de/public/pics/eve_graphicsetup.jpg

i recon part of the speed problem must be your provider though, because i'm pulling the file down at ~800KB/s, and that's over wifi to my laptop - the patch to my desktop came down twice as fast as that over ethernet. even allowing for my line being a 10mbit one, you should be getting 10 times the speed you are. -- --- one day we're all gonna die, and then we'll see who's laughing! |

I am running a Macbook 2.1GHz Intel Duo Core with an Intel GX3100 chipset. Eve worked on this mac before.

FYI - some command-line data about the corrupt patch file.
Downloaded the patch from the EVE Patches page. Examining it from the command-line, I see the following:

Seems my wireless were completely screwing with me - not that it's a whole lot better without, but am pulling down a very inconsistent 100-300 kb/s ... at least it's a lot better than 20-40 kb/s ... Never had these issues with my wireless before, always worked without a complaint ... seems today it decided to be a complete ***** to me ...

I'm having a hell of a time downloading 2GB file myself for the Mac.
I strongly suggest getting firefox and adding DownThemall to the package.
It will beat the #### out of the server and keep the connection live... if it drops it will pause.... 9 times out of 10.
Wi-fi seems to mess it up at times.. suggest a hardline <CAT5> connection. =============== CEO of Clan Shadow Cadre www.shadowcadre.com ===============

Download rates for patches and the full client installation file should be improving now. We're still looking into the cause of the verification errors. In the meantime if you are experiencing patching issues the most straightforward solution is to download the full client installation from the link above. Again, my apologies for the inconvenience.
