EVEMon Dev Team (a.k.a me atm) is inviting you all to beta test the brand new market data uploader, which will be implemented in the next EVEMon minor release (a.k.a 1.7.0).
If any bugs emerge, please be so kind and report them in this thread.
Thanks in advance to all participants.

Perfectly normal behavior. Once the EMUU finds something to upload, it will. Oh and it has a 10 seconds delay on startup before it starts uploading. |

huston I have a problem
as soon as I click the 0.2.exe it crashes....... well reading better the error message I see that the crash occurs on the 0.1 which I used till 20 mins ago. I uninstalled the 0.1 just deleting the folder.
Anyway error message is on the KERNELBASE.dll lib, it also says 'module version crashing: 6.1.7601.17651' but as I was saying the program version crashing is the 0.0.1.0 even if this could be just because you didn't change a version line somewhere :p In fact the 0.1 shouldn't be existing anymore here
Of course I closed EVEmon as well and tried also restarting the computer to see if it was a cache or ram problem but nothing

Although this is not the EMDR topic thread, I'll try to answer to you. To my knowledge EC currently is not subscribed to EMDR's feed. On the other hand, EC is very close in supporting EMUU. There are some last minute tweaks that need to be done. I expect full support within the week. |

EVE-Central does not currently subscribe to EMDR, but EMDR subscribes to EVE-Central.
Currently, the EVEC -> SMTP -> EMDR -> EVEC loop makes it hard to detect duplicate information as the SMTP/CSV is fairly lossy. When we start piping around the original unified messages I'll subscribe to EMDR.
As for EMUU, we're close to supporting it correctly. The biggest hurdle is currently compressed payloads and different interpretations of what that means. EVEC is currently fully plumbed to process unified uploads, though testing all implementations of clients remains a primary concern. EMUU supports only Unified Format messages. I have designed it so that the endpoints are controlled by EVEMon Dev Team, because adding custom endpoints that don't support UF, will cause issues. If any market site dev wants to be included in the endpoints list, (s)he only just has to get in touch with the EVEMon Dev Team and we'll set him/her up. |

Maybe there could be a check box to allow sending the output via a local port for people like maraire?
For the future it might be nice also to let local applications query the built-in web server for the data as well? Probably be less useful but just a thought. Due to some changed made on the way EMUU is uploading UF messages to endpoints, which leads to incompatibilities, endpoints have been disabled.
EMUU versions till Beta v0.3 will not work anymore even if you see available endpoints in it (the upload format is incompatible).
Starting from EMUU Beta v0.4 endpoints that will have adapt the new way will be supported. Currently only EVE Central and BattleClinic are available. Waiting for EMDR and Eve Addicts to come in line. |

Um this way i can never beat Scrappy BOB! :( Seriously it may look like a little detail, but uploading large data requires some setup skills and we really like these silly statistics. So considering that currently most market-data only comes from a few individuals, getting a little bit of credit is a big thing to us.

Its not about e-peen, just some small "working" incentive to actually setup multiple upload accounts and run them for a decent amount of time. I mean i hate "achievements" on my xbox, but seems most other players love them for some reason. Also consider that those stats pages would not exist on those sites if there is no purpose to it, its a silly psychological thing :)

I finally managed to reproduce the issue Snarf. As you may know better than me, a page that contains PHP script still is an html page and any rows after the end of the script is interpreted as break lines.
Never the less trimming code works. But if you leave the script open (without adding the PHP end tag) the response is without break lines. |

EMUU (in this form) will be discontinued as of June 10th (endpoints are going to be disabled). Currently you can get what you need from EVEMon 1.7.0 beta (available from the official EVEMon portal as "snapshot"). P.S. Not to mention that EVEMon 1.7.0 has more features than the EMUU. |

Does not make any sense to me. PHP suppress one empty line after closing tag. (I.e. "?>\n" will translate to empty string, but "?>\n\x20" -> is a space as it is.) This is a documented (although, questionable) behavior.
Do not close PHP code, if your file only contains PHP code. The closing tag is implied by PHP engine at EOF. Saves your head from such behavior. |

Why does unified market uploader embedded in EVEMon delete cache files (from folder \cache\MachoNet\87.237.38.200\330\CachedMethodCalls)?
This approach has two disadvantages:
1. Other cache reading tools unable to work correctly together with EVEMon's uploader. 2. Violates EVE Online EULA which prohibits cache modification.
I think it's better to control cache file creation time as it is implemented in EVE Market Tools. So it's possible to skip already parsed market cache files and avoid performance loss.

1. EVEMon has an option to disable the built-in EMUU. I don't see a problem with that. 2. Deleting a file is not considered 'modification'. You have to reconsider your accusation. It's much like you saying that I can't delete (even manually) any file from EVE installation, which is simply untrue.
However you could use EVEMon to your advantage as it has a (atm) secret setting (which I intend to have it as an option in the next release) to point EMUU to a localhost endpoint, if your application has a built-in server as EveMeep has. If you are interested on knowing how to, please contact me. |

Ok, let us leave EULA-related discussions and look at the problem as developers.
As you may know not only my tool uses cache reading. And designing your tool in way which eliminates possibility of simultaneous use of the resource (eve cache) is a bad practice. Especially when there are possible and easy solutions to avoid file deletion. Could you tell me the reason for such implementation in your tool?

EVEMon couldn't save settings modification due to system protection of folder where settings are located. I have disabled UAC. However EVEMon does crash too often, so maybe that can affect saving settings. I have reported this in official EVEMon forum months ago but I was ignored because I didn't give enough details (Even though I gave full description, log and error message.)
(Basically if I move mouse over EVEMon taskbar icon and click it BEFORE popup appears, there is good chance for EVEMon to hang up so that I need to use Task Manager to kill the process)

I've noticed a few times that EVEMon has turned the market uploader off, and I have to go and re-enable it. Haven't found out what triggers it yet though, not been able to reproduce it or find any pattern yet that would let me write a decent bug report. It's very intermittent, maybe once or twice a week at most.
Other than that it works great. |

Misbehavior has already been noticed and has been fixed internally for some time now. Thanks though for reporting. |

What is the problem to allow entering custom endpoints not only at localhost?
For example I want to upload market data to my personal web server somewhere in internet. Why I cannot do such thing?

The EVEMon Market Uploader was designed to upload to specific endpoints that support the format it uses. Localhost support was added to support apps that make use of local data aggregation.
You can use EMDR feed in your case and filter out any data you don't want. |

First of all - EMDR feed updates are not online, it has sufficient delay in data processing.
In case of using EMDR I must support separate process with infinite loop to receive all incoming data with permanent connection to EMDR server (as stated in their documentation) it will generate huge amount of incoming traffic and use a lot of server resources. I simply need no ALL market information, usually 5-10 item types is enough for me. In case of receiving data directly from EvEmon via POST requests I can write very simple processing script which will handle small amount of data only from my computer (not from ALL eve community in case of EMDR)
It is of course up to developers to enable or not enable some features in their product. But as a customer I cannot understand the reason of these restrictions. What can be wrong if we will be able to specify one more URL in addition to standard ones?
Of course, I have already set up tiny proxy which transfer the POST requests from localhost to my external server. But why due to some farfetched restrictions we should use several programs instead of one I cannot understand.
Thanks for you attention.

Hello, I'm testing EMDR but I am getting incomplete "history" results for some items (others are ok). For example: {'version': '1.8.0.3987', 'name': 'EVEMon.MarketUnifiedUploader'} typeID - 2048 - Damage Control II regionID - 10000002 - The Forge generatedAt - 2013-01-14 17:45:25 rows - [['2013-01-14T00:00:00+00:00', 957, 5547, 550000.09, 1300000.0, 808667.6927]] Now, several hours after generatedAt, quantity is 8077.
Anyone having this issue?
Thanks. |

First you are in the wrong thread. Second, ASFIK, history is cached every 00:00 UTC and every 3 hours interval. |

Why am I in the wrong thread? Data is generated by EVEMon.MarketUnifiedUploader and EMDR doesn't modify data.
Caching intervals explains numbers from last day but it doesn't explain why there is only one history row (from January 14th) instead of one year history log.
Thank you. |

First this topic was opened for the beta testing of the EMUU. It's now part of the EVEMon code and the proper place is the official EVEMon forums. Additionally reading your post I understood that your issue is with EMDR and not the uploader.
Market 'History' has two method for caching in EVE. 1. GetNewPriceHistory, which returns only one row. 2. GetOldPriceHistory, which returns the one year history. |
