Edited by: Clair Bear on 11/03/2009 02:32:58 The good old infinite completion imminent bug is with us. Just had an alt spend ~8 hours on a 10 minute skill which never completed. To add insult to injury, that 250sp skill is still at 0 sp.
Use the skill queue at your own peril.
I will bug report this through official channels, of course. But consider yourself forewarned. The old sisi queue bugs are still very much with us.
EDIT: in fact, it's even worse. A skill trained to level 1 and being trained to level 2 went to * LEVEL ZERO *. Definitely watch out for the queue!

Oddly enough, I have been playing with skill queue for about 8 hours now, and did not have one problem. 2 clients, one Mac and one Windows. I did find some interesting quirks in the system though.

Yes, I ran into some of these issues 3-4 weeks ago on sisi. But not since then.
Ah well, hope non-queued skills aren't going to wig out on me. I'm reverting to the good old one skill at a time method on all my characters for a while. Going to take screenies of all my characters since the API is down just in case it does though.

Yeah, I had this happen. Thank goodness I'm a noob, and this only cost me four hours (assuming CCP doesn't fix it by then). Too bad, because I otherwise really like this patch! Taking it to the stars. |

TBH the HUGE usefulness of this more than outweighs the risk to my mind, while the risk you take shouldn't be more than 24h worth of skill-training-time.

Confirmed it did NOT work for me. Had a skill in queue. Thought I'd check it about 30 minutes after I finished the first one, and there was nothing in training. Additionally, the next skill was supposed to take 2 days, and it said 5+ days remaining the first time I started training it. I had to switch to another skill and switch back again.
Don't give up CCP! This is too useful a feature to not fix.

Worked for me - I had set up a bunch of Electronics skills to train (Frequency Modulation, Long Distance Jamming, Signal Dispersion, or some such) and logged off before going to work.
Saw the post above, wondered if I might be affected so I logged in to find that one skill had already finished, the next was currently in training as expected.

I have had the imminent bug in the que-majiggy also. I had 10 or so skills in it (new player) and it locked up on one down the list a ways. Matter of fact the 5th skill was sharing a countdown timer with the first skill in the que.
Removed them both. Put them back. fixt.
I think.
Maybe.
Ok I don't know.

i noticed 2 bugs - after one skill completed it paused and didnt start the next one (thankfully i noticed the char sheet icon lit up an said "no skill in training" but now im paranoid about it) also i had queued up all the subsystem skills to level 1 and later noticed it had trainined one of them to level 2 (i double checked when i made it, i KNOW i didnt accidently add another level)

While the great majority of people are idiots this time I'm not among them.
I have evemon with a cached copy of the character up. It shows learning at 1 -- I believe all 800k sp characters started with learning 1, but not 100% certain. If anyone has an untrained intaki/reborn/engineer 800k character around to double check we'd know for sure.
After the 'completion imminent' bug that skill had to be trained back to level 1. Something went bump in the night there.
Also, the same character just completed learning 2 but did NOT start on the next queued skill. Yeah. Fun fun.

I have to admit it is a little funny to see that my skills history shows that I apparently spent four hours training engineering from 2 to 0 :) Taking it to the stars. |

You just have to start it after you queue them. It dont auto start you have to tell it to.

Its not an auto starting issue, its that it actually resets the skill to 0. Taking it to the stars. |

Exactly that. History has a 'Training Complete', with a timestamp, to Level: '0'.
It's not possible train a skill to level 0. It starts at zero. If a training completes it'll be at least at level 1. If it's paused or not started, there is no completion log entry.
The only possible explanation is a bug. And observed behavior is SP loss.
The queue *should* work a great majority of the cases. I'm going to go out on a limb and say 99.9% of the time it should work perfectly. Otherwise this bug would have been easy to reproduce, troubleshoot and fix while on sisi. Often occuring SP loss without podding seems like a "stop the deployment" sort of bug to me.

Have you restarted your client since this happened?
I've had skills set to the previous level before due to a skillqueue bug, but they've always set themselves to the proper completed level once I restart the client.

Same thing happened to me as well. Had Social II and came back from work and found out that I really have Social 0.
I petitioned it as well. Hopefully this bug will get fixed or otherwise I might just resort myself switching skills the old fashioned way.

I guess I spoke too soon about the skill queue. Apparently it just stopped training period, and I had to clear the queue and re-add the skills to get it to start again.
Before I redid it, it kept saying "tried to save illegal queue", and would also spit out an error message when I tried to remove the skill I just added. When I closed the queue and reopened it, that skill was gone. ----------------------------------- "What can go wrong, will go wrong." |

I would call into question the OPs competence. ______________ Some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn. |

Edited by: Lagerstars on 11/03/2009 03:52:57 I queued up some skills this morning also. First skill was a lvl 1 taking 39mins i think, My API from the Eve-O website shows the below...
Amarr Drone Specialization / Rank 5 / SP: 566 of 1250 +Currently training to: level 1 +Time left: training complete +SP done: 684 of 684
Having seen this thread i logged on to check things out and 3 hours after it all started it still had 15 mins remaining??????? So the API was also not displaying the same information
I correctly added skills in to the queue list and clicked apply, the skill changed to the one intended at the top of the queue list so i left it to it and went to work.
So ive now cleared it and set it to 1 long skill again.
Surely the queue doesnt work only when logged on? -----------------------------------------

This skill training happened well after the Apocrypha patch. Unlike a client graphical bug, there is a history log entry for the skill training completing to level zero from whatever level it was before. SP and level for the skill is also reset.
The real workaround from the issues thread is a petition.

I have a similiar problem. I'm training my negotiation skill to lvl 4, and it will be completed in about 18 hours, but when you look at it in skills it says it will take more than two days.

A couple of times yesterday mine hung at "completion imminent".
When I paused it and moved on to another skill, that first one reset to zero SP. Then somehow I managed to get 2 skills training at the same time, with the exact same values... but when one got to the end it went back to zero and I'd only trained one.
There's definitely something up.

My gas harvesting skill, which started at level 2, was supposed to be level 4 this morning... is now -83k SP and level 0!
I demand that a random skill of every single player on EVE gets set to -2M skillpoints. (And no, logging off doesn't work... It's server side as I can't even fit a harvester)

Unfortunately, alot of threads started on 'general discussion' nowadays are actually trolls. However, 50% of the readers of general discussion also now seem to think that 90% of threads are trolls, no matter what. ----------
