I get the same error - Cannot copy the forcedll.dll - although it IS in the Eve-root Directory?
Any Ideas?

Quote: 2. Put a batch file called eve2.bat or something like that in your root eve directory that has just "C:\progra~1\CCP\EVE\bin\ExeFile.exe" inside it. Use notepad or edit or whatever.
Someone said something about pointing to blank batch file. The file isn't blank but contains C:\progra~1\CCP\EVE\bin\ExeFile.exe inside it. You may have to change the path if you didn't use default path when installing Eve.

Nice for you dude! Did you get decent graphics or just really crappy (posted some screens in general forum). Screens along with gfx specs would be nice |

i actually had to buy a 6200 for one of my comps.. it was literally the ONLY low-profile video card i could buy, that had more then 16mb of memory on it yeah, 6200 runs eve just fine, however, i can either choose to have graphics set on nothing, or, i can be happy with an average fps of 10.. meh, i mostly just browse the web on that one anyway
you could most likely get a much better card for just a little bit more money
my main computer has the opposite problem, i maxed out every setting, and am running at 1600x1200, and my fps is capped out no matter what.. :P
on another note, i might be having a problem with my laptop..(hp NC8000) still installing the patch on it, hoping it wont be stupid with me when i try running it.. but, it refused to run the old premium client, even though the video card in it, is a ati 9600, and those support SM2
did the old premium client ask for sm3 or something? i dont want to need to get a program like that to make my laptop run the features it's already supposed to support.. --- return the mines!

16 MB of Vram? My God how long does the game take to load up? and how mutch normal ram that thing got :P
It's got 500-something total, but I think that other guy was right about it just allocating part of the system RAM as VRAM. Unbelievably, while it took about 2 minutes for the classic client to load up and show me a logon screen, the new client with this hack pops up in about 15 seconds.
I'm really glad that this has helped some people stay in the game. I'm not sure what's going on with the errors some of you are having, but the only purpose of the batch file with the path to the exefile.exe is to prevent 3d analyze from dumping it's DLL's in the bin directory (which makes Eve freak out and refuse to run). You might try moving the eve2.bat file to somewhere you know for sure can be copied to, like your desktop or my documents folder. Resist the temptation to just point 3d analyze at the eve.exe file, because that won't work and will just leave you frustrated. |

I also have a Dell D600, and the fixed eve session crashes (I think almoste every time I undock). Has anybody seen this and knows a fix? I changed Shader quality and Texture quality to low, but that doesn't help. Also unchecked "Dither" - still no improvement.

You are close to getting it work. Try downloading GPU-Z and check what your card supports. Then look at the (sparse) documentation in help.html located where you extracted 3D Analyze. There is also som documentation here (translated from italian)
You probably have to experiment some with different option to make it work. The settings provided in the screenie in this thread worked for me on a geforce2 gpu. Good luck.

I had the .dll issue as well, but I got it working.
What I did was I deleted and then reinstalled the 3D-Analyse program from it's old location in the /eve directory up one level to the /ccp directory, and deleted the forcedll file in the /eve directory - it's part of 3D, not EvE so dont panic about breaking EvE by nuking it.
I made sure my eve2.bat file in C:/program files/CCP/EVE said
C:\progra~1\CCP\EVE\bin\ExeFile.exe
And then re-ran 3D-Analyze, pointing to that file and giving it the sekrit password to ignore CCP's quest to revitalise the Icelandic economy by getting people with old hardware to either buy new hardware or quit EvE.
Then it worked. Kinda. A bit. Well enough to change skills and move some money, at least.
And I loved the trippy black and white redecoration of the station, but the yellow blocks moving at random were, like, psychedelic.
I wonder if they'll be friends ?

You, Surely Bob, are my hero.
As CCP tried to retire my aged IBM T30 workhorse forcefully, your program and advice allows me at least changing skills and doing market stuff again while on the move.
Shame on CCP for completely messing up most aged Laptops with their new client. Let the players decide by themselves, if they want to cope with inferior framerates and/or old graphics, don't ban us right from the start.

Thanks heaps, works for me ;)
Though Ticking the Skip pixel shader version 2.0 box makes the games textures turn all wacky and unpleasant, So i left it unticked. At least it makes the game more playable for me until i get better hardware.

Hey guys, been trying to follow this but having a bit of trouble so i thought to ask those who have succeeded. Running XP so no admin issues.
I installed 3D Analyzer - created a batch file by clicking on the eve.exe in the root directory. I then edited it to point at \bin\ExeFile.exe. I then went back into 3D analyzer opened the batch file and then clicked my check boxes, hit run and got; "create process failed" "error while injecting dll into target process"
Any ideas what i am doing wrong?

Create a normal txt file and rename it to eve2.bat in your eve directory. then edit it with notepad and put in the full location as following with Quotation marks IE "C:\Games\Eve online\bin\ExeFile.exe" My location is just an example, you have to put the appropriate path line into the file and save it. then open 3D analyzer and open batch file. do not save the batch file after ticking all the desired boxes. just click run and thats it. eve should start up and your done.

I am clear on all of it except for what batch file do i click on when i go back to into 3D Analyzer? Do you mean the txt file i just created? I don't seem to be able to select this with 3D Analyzer.

Edited by: Carla Klipkapper on 14/03/2009 01:13:52 Edited by: Carla Klipkapper on 14/03/2009 01:13:20 I presume the file still says eve2.bat.txt if so then you have to edit the file extension. to be able to do that. you go to the top of the explorer window click - tools - Folder Options - View and untick Hide Extension for known File type. then you should be able to rename the eve2.bat.txt and remove the last part .txt so it only reads eve2.bat also make sure when you are in 3D analyzer. click Select. change the file of type your looking for to Batch file. then it should appear and you open it

If you made the mistake of clicking save batch file in 3D analyzer and you still getting errors after trying my method mentioned above then go to eve directory and delete the batch file and the files 3D analyzer created then follow the above advice from scratch. I take no responsibility for your actions if you delete the wrong files!
I get an Error saying "There are extra files in your Eve Directory. If you've recently applied a patch you may need to restart" Then it lists the two config_DX.ini and config_GL.ini files..
Any Suggestions?

You can't link Exefile.exe directly! From 3danalyze you must link the eve.bat you created.
Originally by: Captain Plumbo
We can't link exefile.exe directly because 3D Analyze creates a few temporary files in the directory where the linked file is. EVE checks for unknown files on startup and refuses to start because of this, thus the need for the .bat file to point to exefile.exe.

to those having problems with the error injecting dll. I was getting the same thing and was frustrated by it and unpacked 3d analyze again and it found one more dll file that it "forgot" to unpack the first time. hook_3DA.dll was the file it was missing for me.
Got it up and running after some tinkering due to error above. some trippy graphics but atleast I can change my skills and check prices again and talk to people.

You can't link Exefile.exe directly! From 3danalyze you must link the eve.bat you created. The two files you get the message about is in the /bin directory in your EVE install. Just delete them (you can open them and check that they are 3D Analyze files if you want)

Hi, and thanks Bob, I was able to get the game to load enough to train skills, however when I go to mine for ore, I can't click on any of the asteroids, they are a solid transparent black just like my ship and I'm unable to click on either. Does anyone know the fix within the fix for this?
Thanks

Works like a charm. The graphics is totally crapped out for me (I don't seem to get any textures - only "pixelnoise") but my FPS while the starmap is active is about twice of that of the classic client in starmap view. That's really great since I only use my laptop to update orders or set some skills, so I couln't care less about the 3d-stuff as long as the UI responsetimes are fast enough.
Thanks!

Yay! It works :)
I have an IBM T42 (ATI Mobility Radeon 7500).
Just make sure to mark all boxes that are indicated in the 1st post of this thread. Also make sure to put the .BAT file in the EVE root folder, before selecting/running 3dAnalyze (if you ran it earlier - delete the Force.dll file from the EVE folder, and delete and reinstall 3dAnalyze).
THANK YOU BOB !!!
