happened on 3 of the 7 machine that upgraded from classic to apocrypha and all the premium->apocrypha machines, totalizing 6 machine boots going missing for good.
Just FYI, dunno if it has been reported yet/at all.

No, it hasn't! Simply because you must be the only one it happened to. Strange...

Let me guess, these machines with missing boot.ini are all running Vista?
And what are you doing with 13 computers?

Edited by: brinelan on 11/03/2009 14:33:34 So you didnt learn your lesson about backing up from the last boot.ini incident.. or heck just as a preventative measure for all data considered important?
Besides, if it was happening then the forums would be lighting up like last time.
Either that, or its a weak troll post... one or the other.

After an investigation of the claims that patching from the classic client to Apocrypha was deleting the boot.ini files from XP machines we have concluded that this was not caused by the Apocrypha client installer or patcher. For your reference, the file in the Eve client that was previously called boot.ini is now called start.ini to avoid these potential problems.

this navigator summed up the thread quite nicely.
I assume the op was warned for trolling. ------------------------ To make a megathron from scratch, you must first invent the eve universe. ------------------------ Life sucks and then you get podded. |
