The controlled bursts skill reduces the cap use of turreted weapons. Since projectile guns use no cap, this skill is thoroughly worthless to them.
Projectile guns are supposed to be machine guns and autocannons and such, right? Well, anyone who has ever gotten sexual satisfaction from firing a big old machine gun will tell you that controlled bursts are the best way to get some accuracy out of these weapons.
I suggest a dual bonus for this skill:
- 5% or whatever less capacitor use for turreted weapons like hybrids and lasers as it is now, - 5% more accuracy per level for projectile guns.

Also, dont forget that every single laser user has this at level5, so it doesnt make for alot of specialisation.
Another thing, the skills needed for tech2 guns seem to add tracking / optimal range. Not sure if they add it to tech1 turrets too though.

You know, the greatest problem with Projs are their acuracy? they miss a lot, a lot! So no, its not overpowered, i like the idea!!!

This has already been suggested in another thread in the "Ships & Modules" forum, which can be seen by clicking here. Controlled Bursts is meant to lower cap usage of weapons. If your weapons don't use it, then you don't need to train it. Motion Prediction increases tracking speed, so will be more useful if it's greater accuracy you'd like.
You could argue that it's unfair that Trajectory Analysis gives Projectiles a bigger bonus, because they have bigger fall off ranges to start. So make Trajectory Analysis give hybrids a tracking bonus, and lasers a cap usage bonus. But Sharpshooter gives an unfair advantage to Railguns which have the highest optimal ranges...so make it give lasers and projectiles twice the bonus. Oh, but none of these skills benefit missile or drone users. So maybe make all skills the game benefit every single player. I feel so dirty after so much sarcasm in one post.
Just as Refining or Frigate Construction gives no bonus for using a Medium Projectile turret, just because controlled bursts isn't of benefit to a projectile user, be satisfied knowing that your turrets don't use cap. THAT is an advantage over other turrets right there.
