I seriously dont think you guys who dont like the new warp effect have your graphics turned up or something.
What you describe doesnt sound like what I am seeing, and it looks far better in my opinion. I feel like its moving faster then before unless you are going a very short distance - and i actually think warps are faster then before?

Technically there shouldn't be any sound in space.....

I vastly prefer the new sounds...vastly. Especially the new gate sound. The old sound was way to loud and annoying, same with the cloaking sound.
Now, if only we could get the devs to balance the volume between space and the stations (the station sounds are WAY louder than the space sounds)...

Technically our pod's computer synthesizes sounds for the pilot as an aid to piloting (increases situational awareness). For instance the computer senses someone shooting it provides you with the sound of someone shooting.
Doesn't anyone read the backstory anymore?

The new fitting window is pretty sexy.
Having cynosural fields at ships in the fleet added to the "Jump to" right click menu is ****ing FTW.
New ship effects are MUCH better. Far less eyestraining (gods...a fleet full of shield boosting/sensor boosting ships was painful after a while).
The new POS shield effects are sweet.
Having alliance/corp tags on POS modules...nice touch.
New stargate/cynojump effects. Also a plus in the eyestrain category. New stargate/cynojump sound...less obnoxious, but its going to have to grow on me a bit. In the event of an emergency, my ego may be used as a floatation device.

Warp visual and audio affects are very weak as is the jumpgate stuff. I like the old ones better.

A lot of people do... like a lot of crappy old stuff better just because they're accustomed to it.
new warp tunnel = awesome. lack of camera shaking and warp-boom = meh.

Dude, people have NEVER read the backstory. Had someone tell me in a post the other day that if it's not represented in game, how can CCP expect players to believe that it's true?
The argument was over crew in ships, but still.
With that, I do believe they should allow you to adjust how your ship synthesizes the sounds. They've already done the work for implementing the old noises. What they should do is a 'HUD program' UI, which allows players to *choose* which soundset they want.
A little more work, but it would end with a LOT of new options. I can understand visual effects being less of an option, but not sound.

I like pretty much every new thing EXCEPT the muffling of the sounds from far away. If I'm not paying attention while mining I'll never hear belt rats shooting at me until they're right on top of me.
Missile launch sounds are extremely muffled when zoomed out, and now the explosion sound they make is almost inaudible. ----------------------------------- "What can go wrong, will go wrong." |

Love the new patch features, but think the sound effects are a huge step down. I'm totally fine with having no or little sound in space, but I should hear my own ship, and I would like to get a warning when I'm getting attacked. If I can't hear the enemy blasters, then maybe a voice saying "hostiles present" or something?
The sound mixing on the stations is an obvious error that will hopefully be fixed. Completely deafening.

Excactly, the old sound was so awfull it sounded like a toilet flushing or something like that.
THe sound needs to be checked tho with no sound if you are not zoomed in close.
