Just curious, all I hear about is sleepers etc etc.
Is there any other type of sites in worm-hole space.

There are gravimetric sites in wspace. Scanned down one but didn't have a miner or survey scanner on the ship. belt had a fair number of roids, no ABC.

I found a ladar and a gravimetric, both were in highsec wormholes. The Gravimetric was veldspar, scordite, plagioclase and pyroxeres, the ladar was 2 gas clouds of the new type.

on SiSi from a 0.6 wormhole I found herdbergite and hermorphite and I have heard of people finding dark ochre from high sec wormholes

Edited by: Dinkter on 11/03/2009 19:04:29 Something to be aware of, if you are going in to WH space to mine, Sleepers will show up. While I wouldn't advise a mining op. in WH space without an escort anyway, you will want one if only to defend against the sleepers.
I haven't had much of a chance to spend time in WH space on TQ, but did spend quite a bit of time on Sisi in WH space. Every Grav. belt I encountered did end up having sleepers in it. Up to having 2-3 sleeper cruisers with frigate support show up. This was in one of the intermediate range WH pockets.
Hacking sites in WH space are actually supposedly going to possibly end up being more difficult than many of the plexes. There was mention during one of the plex testing days of this.
I'm not sure about the Mag sites as I didn't scan any down while on Sisi (only had a Codebreaker with me), but they exist in WH space also.
Edit: Forgot to mention something. The sec. level required to find the ore in Low/Null sec. seemed to coincide with how difficult the rats that would show up were, and how large a force they had in tow.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if you get rat spawns in harvestable cloud sites? I don't remember spawns the couple times I did gas spawns in 0.0.

I don't know for certain, since I haven't been in one long enough to have them appear, but I would go into it assuming they do.

I found a gas site last night and it was clear of rats when I arrived. Went back to empire and got some harvesters and when I came back there were rats there. After I popped them I didn't see any for the next two hours I mined though.

From the sound of things W-S is non-productive. We spent 4 hours there as a group of 10-11, killing 6 sites for about 100m in profit and ended up 39 jumps from where we started. So by the time all as said and done we spent about 6 hours for 10m isk each.
Maybe just high sec mining is much asfer and more productive.
btw I love the way local works in W-S

Yes.
In a Class 3 I found two large gas clouds. I warped to one and it was empty of sleepers. I cloaked and continued the survey of the system. Roughly 20 minutes later, 6 sleeper ships arrived. I didn't get the types but most of them were frigs I think - I did not stick around to ask them what they were flying.
Worst part is that even in cloak I was moving still and some distance away from the "warp to 0" drop in zone - and though cloaked the sleepers arrived within 5000M of my ship. That's very scary when you have the system map up running scans and suddenly red crosses appear that close.

You were luckier than you might realise.
That size ship spawn sounds like the one with 4 scrambling frigates and 2 cruisers. |

I specifically look for grav sites in wh's, as I am a fairly new player, & my combat skills are meh.
In the majority of cl 1-3 wh's, which is all I ever enter, I have found grav sites with all the ores in Eve, except mercoxit. Arkonor, Bistot, Crokite. All there. Usually one asteroid of each, about 10 Iteron V haulers worth of ore, each asteroid.
Basically, more ore than a solo player with a Retriever (all I can fly so far) can mine.
Great fun, though, to be mining the ABC ores with a retriever, one jump from hisec.
I play carefully, with a covops/Drake second account. So far, have not lost a ship in wh space to hostile play. Did screw up & fleet a Retriever w/my Drake mission runner on top of a spawn of Sleeper frigs, however. Bye bye, Retriever.
Point is, found all the good null sec ores, in the majority of Cl 1-3 wh's.

Edited by: BuckStrider on 05/06/2009 21:47:51 Currently living in a Class 1 hole as a test to see how it is.
As of yesterday, while doing my usual daily scan, I ran across a grav site that contains a very healthy dose of A/B/C (each rock contains more than 2500 each) and there are over 5 of each type of the high ends.
Of course, (and I think this is stupid) you can't fly a hulk in...But you can repackage one and bring it in with a hauler
Also found out that WH run on a 25hr timer if it hasn't been disrupted too much from ships flying in and out
