I've been having some serious problems with Apocrypha a very low fps rate (between 6.7 and 22.0) and when I blow up a rat the explosion causes the whole thing to crash.
I've tried hitting esc and fiddling with all the options but short of turning of explosions nothing seems to help, turning of explosions doesnt improve the fps problem.
I use Vista Business which has had no problems at all with Eve Classic, it was brand new 2 years ago and it has the Intel(R) G33/G31 Express Chipset Family, I've updated my drivers and Gcard and nothing seems to work.
Any Advice would be appreciated

A bit of research shows that it should support SM2 and all that...weird. Not sure ----------------------------------- "What can go wrong, will go wrong." |

Just because your card is SM2 capable, does not mean it's capable of doing the SM2 computations at high speed. --- Have a rawr on me. |

A couple times a year Toms Hardware releases a list of the Best Graphics Card For the Money.
It's an easy to follow list and organizes good graphic cards by their price and they give you a summary of their potential performance. If you check out the list I believe you can find what your looking for. The most recent list is the Feb '09 one which is what I linked above. --------------

THG reports what it gets paid to report. Guru3D, Anandtech and Xbit are good sites.

Edited by: Doctor Penguin on 12/03/2009 13:43:55 Look for an ATI Radeon 4670. That little beauty is the best GFX card on the market bang for buck wise - it's generally ú60-ú80 new. The next step up from that is the Radeon 4830 for ú100, and a Radeon 4850 for ú150. The Radeon 4870 is around ú180, and is a great card if you're running at 1900x1200 resolution.
Nothing more expensive than ú200 is worth it. ________________________________________________

Make sure that you have the latest drivers. I have a high-mid end card that would grind down to 20fps in asteroid fields if I was looking at them. Updated drivers puts that at 80fps+.
